Voodoo Bands are Legit

Google “tack and floss”. Second link down for the ankle. Works well. Tried it yesterday.

@orange- let us know how they work for you. I’m pretty confident you won’t be dissapointed

Will do brother.

how do you do the mobilisations from the video by yourself?

I can’t really describe it but for the elbow, while sitting, I can’t of wrap it once at first (50% tension) and trap one side of it against my leg, then wrap it around the elbow one complete time (75% tension), trap the loose end again against my leg, grab the other side and keep wrapping it with 75% tension, and repeat.

That probably just confused you, haha.

lol, I think it’s probably just something I’d need to try for myself in order to understand it

can you use therabands for this?

Honestly not too sure. I’m not familiar enough with Therabands to really answer that. They may be too thin

They work!!! I’m not sure if voodoo bands would even better, but wow my knee feels amazing

I wrapped one above and one below, then did some bodyweight squats and TKEs off a step for a couple of minutes. I hope the effect lasts - PVC rolling, hard cross-tendon massage, and endless TKEs have helped, but felt nothing like this

Do that once a day in combination with fish oil and it should

I’m not understanding the science behind this. I hope it’s not just a temporary effect from the blood rush.

Kelly is recommending 2-3 mins 4-5x a day for the knees, or until you feel like it’s making no difference

My understanding is this. The bands force blood out if the area, and break up up the soft tissue when the limb manipulated. When the band is taken off, an EXCESS of blood is dished to the area carrying nutrients needed for healing. This is my own personal interpretation so I encourage you to do your own research. And yes multiple times a day is probably better, once worked for me but obviously the more the better.

thanks bulkncut, that’s what I read but it honestly sounds somewhat brosciency hahah. I guess I can see it working to flush away WBC’s that would cause inflammation

No problem, yeah it does seem quite brosciencey but it worked for me so I didn’t question too much. It’s def on my list of things to research and understand better. Hope it works out for ya

This isn’t a scientific study or anything but I going this

The basic principle of the thing is that, in healthy tissues, tendons and ligaments and fascia and muscle slide against one another freely; in tissues that have been inflamed by injury or by chronic misuse/underuse/overuse, the connective tissues tend to mat together somewhat. This limits range of motion and can cause a little to a lot of pain, depending on how bad and where.

The compression banding pins down big tendons and forces the tissues to slide independently of one another again as you move the joint through as much and as many different kinds of range of motion as you can think of. (This part is not as much theoretical- you can feel it and it is WEIRD). After the wrap comes off, blood flows back into the area as you move the joint around freely again, and the extra oxygen boost helps keep things from immediately restiffening. (This part is more theoretical, but what the hell, makes sense to me.)

Here’s the link, just some dude talking about it. Ill keep searching for some actual scientific supported info.

Wow, this is very encouraging news for someone like me whose tried almost everything for my patellofemoral pain. I will have to give this a try.

Heres my thread involving my injury:

I glanced through your thread and I’m sorry to hear about your situation. I kinda know what it feels like to deal with something ongoing that nothing seems to help with. Incredibly frustrating. Give the bands a shot and the worst that happens is it doesn’t work. Good luck man and I sincerely hope you can fix this soon

Has anyone used one while bench pressing for their shoulder?
