How do you guys measure your volume, by sets or reps? What do you also consider high and low volume in term of sets and reps? Thanks for any feed back.

Both approaches have their merits
and drawbacks.

On the one hand, if you’re doing 20
rep sets, you surely don’t want to
do as many total sets as might be
appropriate for 5 rep sets. So,
just counting sets can be inappropriate.

On the other hand, just counting reps
also is imperfect. E.g., 500 reps total at
90% 1RM definitely is more wear and
tear on the body than 500 reps total
at 60% 1RM.

I don’t have any quantitative method.
I generally use sets as my guideline
but I take into account the number
of reps also: I do more sets if the
reps per set are low.

The natural trainer might appropriately
do from 16 to 72 sets per week (and some
would say he might do more.) The steroid
user might appopriately do say 48-120
sets per week (and some would say he
might do more.)
