Why the fuck is this thread even around?
And why does every retard feel the need to post in it?
I think some of these newer guys get off on thinking about their limitations long before they actually are even at risk of reaching them.
I’ve read a lot of your posts Brant and Prof X. I have the utmost respect for the insight you two bring to the site.
Here’s my take on this issue:
I think it’s natural that beginners set their sites on certain physiques. Masturbatory, limitations, self-improvement… whatever you call it, it is a form of goal setting.
It does take some time for a beginner to fully understand what exactly is involved in achieving these builds, and the cut is made when they finally begin to grasp it.
The reason this post exists, and retards (or beginners as we prefer to be called) are posting in it, is because this is a viable stage of the process.
Maybe I am missing the real reason for the vitriol, but it seems to me that everywhere on this site is a picture of a physique that is justifying/promoting a product or program.
I would like to hear what is inherently wrong about this.
What is wrong with it is that setting boundaries before you even begin playing the game does nothing but create mental blocks that will keep all of these guys from ever doing much of anything.
Out of ALL of these threads, how many of these people do you really think will be pushing hard at this 10 years from now? Most of “I don’t want to get big” crowd will burn out quickly once they realize they are making little to no progress. The reason for that is that regardless of what your final goal is, the work ethic IS THE SAME. They are lacking that completely because these questions imply they believe you somehow need to train differently depending on how much muscle you plan on carrying in the end.
Yes, some of these authors are to blame for that mind set, but in the end, the guys who want it bad enough will figure out early on that hard work is identical whether your end product is specifically 200lbs or 280lbs.[/quote]
Great post Prof.
