Visually Appealing?

Going from the former to the latter takes a lot of hard work. Going from the latter to the former is done pretty easily.

If I were you I’d just start getting as big and healthy as possible, and stop whenever you seriously feel like stopping (which probably will take a loooong while). Anything else is just procrastination and waste of thought.

Why the fuck is this thread even around?

And why does every retard feel the need to post in it?

Agreed. Why the hell would you even focus on where you plan to stop at? Most people on the planet could NEVER look like Darrem Charles no matter what they did. The man is one of the most genetically gifted bodybuilders on the planet so even discussing this as if you are at risk of looking like that makes no sense at all.

Women like confidence, a full bank account and a guy who can knock their ass out in bed. If you can do that, no woman in her fucking right mind is going to turn you down because you weigh 250lbs ripped instead of 190lbs.

Some of you need to quit talking and actually achieve something in the gym.

This shit takes YEARS to accomplish and that is if you have genetics better than most of the population…which most here do NOT.

I think some of these newer guys get off on thinking about their limitations long before they actually are even at risk of reaching them.

Caveman has the exact physique I would like to achieve. I feel he has built a very athletic, healthy, and asthetic physique. Kind of in-between really.

The man didn’t neglect his legs either.

That’s depressing.

Well, I’m eating extra tonight just to balance out the world’s plan-for-failure/goal-achievers ratio. My calories vs. their . . . whatever they have.

I’ve read a lot of your posts Brant and Prof X. I have the utmost respect for the insight you two bring to the site.

Here’s my take on this issue:
I think it’s natural that beginners set their sites on certain physiques. Masturbatory, limitations, self-improvement… whatever you call it, it is a form of goal setting.

It does take some time for a beginner to fully understand what exactly is involved in achieving these builds, and the cut is made when they finally begin to grasp it.

The reason this post exists, and retards (or beginners as we prefer to be called) are posting in it, is because this is a viable stage of the process.

Maybe I am missing the real reason for the vitriol, but it seems to me that everywhere on this site is a picture of a physique that is justifying/promoting a product or program.

I would like to hear what is inherently wrong about this.

There’s nothing wrong with being a beginner.

What gets me is this “Athletic or BB” bullshit concept that has no basis. As if they are so far removed from each other that you have to ask which one to go for!

Also, the obvious; bodybuilding web site = bodybuilding!

In regards to the retards comment, look at the guy asking “why would you train like a bodybuilder?” Or the guy saying “I don’t want to train like one, just look like one.” Or the guy saying “you need steroids to do either.” Or the whole “tell me what to do with myself” mentality.I mean, really?

Those are the retards I mentioned earlier, not beginners as a broad category. As for the limiting themselves, would someone say “I only want to earn about $50,000 a year, I don’t want to get too rich,” or “I only want to sleep with three women in my life.” Just as unlikely it is you will be a multi-billionaire or the next Hugh Hefner, it’s unlikely you will ever get “too big.” So shut up with that idiotic though process.

I’ll admit, when I began, I was a dumbass about everything, but I knew enough to listen and to learn. I was lucky enough to get good info, but when people spout this nonsense to a beginner, it kind of fucks them over when they have this ideas that hold them back from something.

Plus I had to go furniture shopping for 8 hours today and that sucked, so that might have contributed to the “vitriol,” but I still maintain everything was valid.

What is wrong with it is that setting boundaries before you even begin playing the game does nothing but create mental blocks that will keep all of these guys from ever doing much of anything.

Out of ALL of these threads, how many of these people do you really think will be pushing hard at this 10 years from now? Most of “I don’t want to get big” crowd will burn out quickly once they realize they are making little to no progress. The reason for that is that regardless of what your final goal is, the work ethic IS THE SAME. They are lacking that completely because these questions imply they believe you somehow need to train differently depending on how much muscle you plan on carrying in the end.

Yes, some of these authors are to blame for that mind set, but in the end, the guys who want it bad enough will figure out early on that hard work is identical whether your end product is specifically 200lbs or 280lbs.

Well said. The worst thing these personal trainers have done is implant the idea that you need to train differently to have a certain amount of muscle mass.

These guys have been fooled and very few of them seem capable of even listening to people who have more experience.

You sound insecure.

Pick what YOU feel looks best.

Personally my goal is just to look strong be strong and stay relatively lean. I don’t care if this is a bodybuilding site… it’s still the best entertainment and mix of people on a forum with lots and lots of knowledgeable people and articles. If people want to trash me for my goals I could give half a shit.

Do what you want to do.

Great post Prof.

Be healthy and train hard.

make the girl your absolute number one priority and she’ll love you. body build or look athletic for you and no one else.

one beginner’s two cents.
lifelongbread wrote:
I dont know what to do. im not sure if i want to get huge and very muscular or if i want to have an athletic physique. i know theres ups and downs to both sides, but i just want to know whats more visually appealing to the world.
Here’s what you do,
Don’t be afraid of the weights, just shut up, quit whining and just get your ass to work!! TRAIN Dammit! Set a realistic goal to achieve in a year, stick to the basics, eat good, build that solid foundation. Don’t worry about bodyfat percentages, scientific methods, supplements, and other tid bits that don’t concern a beginner. Just train, eat right, always try to add more to the bar, be consistent. Then after a year passes, you’ll be a whole new you, then you can decide where you want to take your training next.

Get rid of this, “i don’t want to train to get too big, i don’t want to be too small, but maybe in between, but definitely ripped, but not grotesquely ripped, i dont’ want to be an anatomy chart, but i want to be sexy for the ladies, and i dont’ want to lift to much weight cause that’ll make me to big, and people might not like how i look, blah blah.” Put that shit behind you and quit being a pansy.

I say fuck what the world thinks, they aren’t your life. So you care what a bunch of envious fat or scrawny lazy fucks think of you? If you do, then maybe you should join them and make them happy. Then you can be another one of those miserable fucks nearing forty that have a gut hanging over their belt while bitching about how shitty professional athletes play on TV all while reminiscing about how great you were during your glorious pee wee football years, then go off on an 17 year old looking to start lifting weights telling them they’ll look to big and stupid.

Haha does it really matter which one is more visually appealing? The second would be impossible to anyone who wishes to stay natural. I’m planning on staying natural, but i’m also aware that in doing so i’ll never achieve a pro bb body. That doesn’t mean I won’t try my hardest to achieve one, it just means I’m not going to worry about what chicks find hotter, or wonder if i’m too big. (Not that I’d care either way, as long as I don’t get too fat and my face stays good looking lol)

My point is wondering whats visually more appealing is’nt very smart, as some girls would prefer one and others the otherone etc, and the chances are the better looking one would end up being considered better looking overall despite how huge either are.

Man up and fuck what the world thinks. Train for yourself and achieve your own goal. Anyway, if you avoid chemical enhancement don’t worry about getting “too” huge, believe me it won’t happen. Actually if you want to achieve an athletic, powerful and muscular body you’ll still have to train as hard as you can unless you are one of those few bastards who look pretty decent even training half-ass.

OP this is what you need to do:

 1. Eat steak every day for the next 3 years.

 2. Drink vodka every weekend for the rest of your life.

 3. Stop shaving and washing.

 4. Go to the gym regularly for the rest of your life and make that bar bend (one nosebleed from squatting is mandatory at least once per month)

 5. Shave your head (goatee optional but extra Manly points)

 6. Optional: Get a tattoo of either a)evil skull with vines, b)evil burning skull, c)evil burning skull with vines.

Hopefully by following these steps you can reclaim your manhood and re-grow that penis god gave you instead of that vagina you have now.

You’ll never look like either if you don’t start eating and lifting.
