6/29/20 - bw 230, today was a fluke shit day. Idk where my strength was. I know I had this in me.

Strict Overhead Press
135x3
185x1
225x1
275x1
305xf, just felt glued to my chest. I feel like I just didn’t have strength today. Everything has been good but it’s been a rough weekend for sleep. Maybe that’s the culprit. I WILL PR on strict press, soon…
225x11, ties a PR -_-

Incline Bench (305 felt heavy on chest, so inclinbe bench to remedy?=logic?)
135x10
185x10
225x5
275x5
255x5
225x8

Standing DB Overhead Press (cleaned each dumbbell standing)
100x6
100x5

7/1/20 - bw 230 another shitty workout. Having a hard time lately, though things should come back around.

Front squat
135x3,3
185x3,3
205x3
225x3
275x1
belt on
335x2
365x2 felt slow and hard, considering I was repping 345 for 10 like nothing, this is disheartening
290x8x3 90 sec rest fortunately weight felt suuuuuper light, just awkward

Stone to Shoulder
175x3,3,5
250x3
250xfail at a one motion to shoulder, idk
250x1 got the one motion to shoulder but it was very hard. Just super pissed.

Yoke
185x100’
275x100’
365x100’
455x50’ 6.3 seconds
455x50’ 6.1 seconds
545x50’ 7.1 seconds felt light and not horrible, right hamstring (one i tore) was feeling it though

Speed is good but I have moved 665 for under 6.5 seconds at this distance. Goes to show how important yoke training is.

Sort of redeemable day, not really. it just feels like my body resists growing stronger at times. Or I am not listening to my body enough. I just feel trashed even after not training hard for one week.

Do you train with company these days? If not, how do you take the time that accurate?

I would guess video review.

You just did 345 for 3 sets of 8-10 2 weeks ago after pushing high rep, exhaustive sets prior to that weekly. Along those same lines, you’ve had multiple PR crushing weeks where beat your body up hard as shit. You’ll bounce back my guy, probably just still beat up from earlier training days. Don’t stress it too much!

That would have been my guess too if it wasn’t for the split seconds.

Pro tip: don’t have sex with expensive furniture.

Where were you when the sofa was new?

It was pretty funny when me and the ex had to tell everyone that our brand new couch had to be sent into repair after only two weeks though. What are you gonna tell - I sat on it too hard? We decided to double down and be honest. Good laugh from the mates and the dad, that’s for sure. Not so sure about the moms

I’ve broken the bed at my wife’s family home but unfortunately it was literally just from sitting down too hard.

7/3/20 - bw 230

Deficit pause Deadlift (axle)
135x3,3
225x3,3
275x3
325x2
365x2 felt solid, not easy
300x8x3, one of the hardest workouts in memory. I failed the last rep of the last set. Just zero power, glued to the floor. I also overheated and had to ice my entire body after this. 93f in NC and I was honestly pretty dehydrated.

I don’t recall fatigue in any muscles by the end, just a lack of proprioceptive awareness of my lower back. Basically, by the end of these sets, I have a grey area in obtaining tightness in my spine. It feels like my back is just a foreign entity and no matter how hard I try, it’s just completely loose and the strain on it is immense.

I am also unable to get any quad drive into the bar. I think this is part due to the deficit and part due to my weak vmo’s and extremely limited ankle ROM. This puts a huge responsibility on my posterior chain and thus my lumbar spine just screams during any hinge movement. I am working on strenghtening the muscles of my posterior chain to help protect my spine as perhaps a last effort in trying to bring up my deadlift by means of actual consistent training. Otherwise I may have to just ditch the movement and find a new exercise. 10 years of this.

I know dude…I know. I’m very anxious and overly invested in certain things and sometime need to take a step back and look at the past and see how many times I’ve overcome adversity. I think part of the issue is I slowly gained weight. I seem to perform amazing around 215-225. Any time I sit at 230-235 too long I seem to just get hurt or perform poorly. My leverages certainly change, as a lot of my weight is stored in my gut. I don’t like being fat, so this just makes it worse lmao.

Actually replaced my batteries in my scale instead of using my shitty old one for the last couple of weeks. For some reason it’s not working and reads way lighter ever since I weighed my 275 sandbag (LOL). I’m 236-237 in the morning which makes sense. I’ve underestimated how easily I gain weight if I don’t try to diet for a few weeks.

Did some AM cardio and I’m basically back on a strict diet plan. Goal will be to get back under 230 and actually maintain instead of gaining. I tend to eat more freely with some restrictions around 230-235, but I seem to end up going off the rails and eating irresponsibly too often. Have to essentially go all in to stay on track.

7/7/20 - bw 237 low calorie breakfast and AM cardio.

Not sure why but I felt like I needed to do something big (or go for) to prove a point to myself. I’ve been pretty overwhelmed by some stuff going on in life atm, and my training is often an outlet and reflection of myself. Am I being sagacious? Am I getting after it? or am I meandering and going in circles? Today was a HUGE mental barrier. I felt a force pulling me to axle clean and press (I am not superstitious). It was kind of like,… subconsciously this is an event, especially when done heavy, that really tests your balls. I wanted to see if I could channel my old reckless self amidst all this super tight programmed training.

It’s been a while since I’ve done it heavy. This is also the first time I’ve worn my adipowers in probably 2 years on a heavy axle lift. I also utilized a split jerk with such success on these lifts that I am looking forward to training it more. I sincerely believe you have to do shit like this. I could have failed, but the deed was done in trying. Great day for me. I know this sounds melodramatic but I feel rejuvenated.

Axle Clean and Press
135x3,3
185x3,2
225x3
275x1 super easy
325x1 PR for a single, and first time not popping it straight to chest from the floor. This is due to using double overhand. I am not keen on using mixed currently because of bicep risk and not having done it.
335x2 cleaned once, this felt so solid. Obviously fucking heavy but I really think I can get 350 on this for a single with a bit more work.

7/8/20 - Bw 236. Wore oly shoes on squats in the first time in a loooong time. Things feel so weird. I’m more upright but my quads are just so freaking weak.

Front Squat (no belt)
135x3,3
185x3,3
225x1
275x1
325x1
390x2 easy, had 4, maybe 5 more in me
315x8x3, 90 sec rest. These sucked, easy on the first 5 sets, the last 3 took a lot out of me.

Sled Push/Tire Drag Suicide
