Looked at the video with him at that comp. His jerks looked good considering he was doing it on a log and doesn’t need to worry about getting called on press outs.

Not sure which leg feels better honestly. My left leg is much bigger but it’s the shorter leg so I feel more off balance on it. My right is weaker but it might be better long term, not sure.

270x…0. This weight…lol. I’ve push jerked 300 for 4 out of the rack. I have to get over this mental block. (I actually typed this after the set and before the following sets).

Okay, honestly, this is the craziest turning around of a workout I’ve ever had. I literally was getting owned by that weight. Each week I was barely capable of getting a single with it. I couldn’t figure out how to nail a split jerk with that much weight before, and on the log, but the trick was pushing the log back and only dipping very minimally, even less than how much I dipped during push jerks as well as planting my back foot first.

I wish I filmed these sets. I was speed-split jerking a 270lb log. Omg. No belt too. Had zero issue. Truly fucking enchanting, my god.

@Destrength Thanks. I am awful at split jerks but I’m good enough at them now, it seems, that I can get some decent work in. Definitely a bit stronger with my shitty splits than push jerks. Can’t wait to see the potential once I improve at it.

@littlesleeper Big time. Not really making improvements on yoke but I could care less. I’m like 30% stronger than I was when I first competed and I’m not slowing down.

250x10 cleans 10 presses, first 5 were done fast, the last 5 had about 15-30 seconds in between reps spent rechalking and breathing in this insane southern US humidity.

All reps were split jerks and the last rep wasn’t even a bad press. It’s just impossible to keep going because of the energy expenditure in cleaning and pressing it so many times in conjunction. Hard as fuck to breathe.

Also, I was worried about not using a belt due to instability, but honestly, split jerks make me feel so stable compared to push jerks. I sometimes have problems stabilizing less weight on a log if I’m push jerking, so split jerks seem to have several benefits.

10/18/17 - bw 223 dealing with a moderate back injury. SI related, likely from the 720 yoke exacerbated by beltless farmers deads and violent sandbag carries. Nice rest week anyway before I peak back up, cautiously…

Forgot I did light log 1-3 days before I dont even remember. It was just a bunch of cleans and split jerks with an empty log.
