Since my lifts are in question, I had to post this:
Yes, my form is horrible. I’m working on that. That’s with 145 lbs.
Yes, I have a naturally disproportionatly strong lower back…that’s why my stiff leg deadlift is the way it is.
Take care,
Neil

just right click and save and the link should work. It worked for me…Can’t comment on the lift though, as I never do those types of movements anymore (since highschool football, etc…)
Thanks, Jason. I should have mentioned that. I’m glad it works, though.
Thanks,
Neil
A couple more things.
I was reading through some of the posts on the “Stop the Nonsense!!” thread, so I’ll address some things.
I’ve been training seriously (meaning heavy olympic lifts) for 6 months. Before that I was doing stupid stuff. I don’t know where the 2/3 of a year came from. If I said it then it was a mistake, but I don’t remember saying it.
When I learned the clean and press, and I got my technique decent, I was able to do 185 max. I worked it up to 225. My shoulders and lower back are naturally my stronger muscles. I have a problem because I can clean more than I can front squat.
The squat number is what I was able to do by only training legs with cleans and some overhead squats. I’m not that explosive, though, and it’s something I need to work on. I ran a slow 5.2 40 time and only a 23" vertical leap at about 225 lbs. But hey, I’m losing fat and improving all the time.
And as to poking fun at my current physique, I was 250 lbs, and I’m down to 208. If you want to poke fun at this, go ahead, but I thought I’d just let you guys know what exactly you’re making fun of.
And yes, I have a molester mustache. But I look even worse without it. And yes, I’m shaving, Goldberg. I’ll ignore the hair comment.
I sure hope someone doesn’t try to say that the video is fake, or that I used fake weights or something. I think you might be able to hear the sounds of the weights, so if you think they’re fake, just turn up the volume lol.
Neil
I think the weights are fake. I have no problem with you NeilG except for the fact that you had almost zero experience and zero education past high school and you came in here telling people who have been doing this for a very long time and have degrees in what they are talking about that they were dead wrong. Im not saying anymore about it besides the fact that in a couple of years you will look back and realize that you dont know everything and that the more you learn the more questions you have. If you ever decide to go Westside hit me up. Ill do my best to help you out. but only if you cut your hair.
Hey Neil, I hope you stick around. I am pretty new on this site, too. You gotta show some humility, you see. You are a newbie, not just on this site, but to lifting in general. On my first post I was nervous because I did not know if anyone would be interested in answering my question. Goldberg was the first one to respond. I checked him out and realized he knows a lot so I should not pretend like I can teach him or many of the others anything much. I am a bit older than you, so I learned a while ago to abandon my narcissistic epistomology, i.e., just because I believe it, it must be true. Also, lose the authoritarian epistomology, ie, some smart sounding authority type said it so it must be true. I hope I don’t sound preachy, I just don’t want you to misunderstand this site. The people here have helped me a lot. Good luck.
The link doesn’t work. I tried it and nothing came up.
Maybe we were a little hard on you, but you deserved it. Everyone seemed to have a problem with your sources and you spouting off saying that we were all wrong about everything. If you would just listen to us, we can definitely help you on every aspect of your game. Goldberg is one of our strongest lifters, and knows his shit. I would listen to him if I was you. As for others, there are many, many well-educated and experienced lifters in here - they can all provide sound advice, if you would listen.
Congrats on the weight loss btw. On your picture thread, you said you were using supps like tribex and m. Man, you are 18, you have raging hormones already. If you aren’t a walking hard-on, then something is wrong with you. I wouldn’t worry about increasing your T any more than it is now.
goldberg is the man, a bit harsh, but he’s the man nonetheless
you just put a bad foot forward for one of your first posts,
couldn’t see the clip, but the comp im on is crap so thats what ya get…
Neil:
A surprising number of knowledgeable forum vets chose not to chime in on your diatribe earlier. Much of what you stated is opinion, and misleading at that. But to refute your sources simply requires far too much effort; do not presume that immediate lack of opposing evidence implies accuracy.
Ignoring all else, I take issue with your stance on raw eggs. I refuse to eat raw poultry products for the same reason I never order rare beef. <a href=http://216.239.53.104/search?q=cache:Ozvcf7gT-1IJ:www.tdh.state.tx.us/phpep/dpn/issues/DPN58N21.PDF&hl=en&ie=UTF-8>I consider both quite foolhardy. A poultry vaccine introduced in 1997 improves egg safety moderately, but not completely.
Goldberg’s not kidding; if you haven’t experienced salmonella yet, you will. Believe me when I say it isn’t pleasant.
As per your video:
I can’t view it. For some reason, Media Player lacks the proper codec.
And to mimic JWright, excellent job on the weight loss. You appear more motivated than most --continue to put it to good use.

KnightRT: hats off to you on that finely tuned post!
Well said.
Knight - that was an excellent post, and I must agree.
Neil - keep asking competent questions after doing sufficient research, and you’ll go far. Most of the time if you do a little research, your questions will get answered without having to post. I know that has happened numerous times to me.
Good luck!!
See? Look at that, one group hug and we’re feelin’ better already.

Everyone,
If you couldn’t view the video, one possibility is that geocities limits data transfer, so it might be too busy. If that’s the case, just try again some other time.
I won’t even pretend to think I know much about weight lifting. I know some basic stuff, but that’s about it. That’s why I’m here.
How about this- I’ll stick with my diet and post the results. I’ll also try to get a blood test, too. Then I’ll post the results and let you guys make your own conclusions.
Oh, Goldberg, I hate to bring this up again, but this is just because you asked a question that I didn’t get around to answering. Yes, I have been eating raw eggs for several years (I think 4), but the reason for the smaller number, too is because the smaller number is when consuming at least three raw eggs daily. I did not eat that many before. Not to mention I buy organic eggs now. Not that it matters, I just wanted to answer your question. If you think the weights are fake, then fine. That’s what I do…waste my time and money buying fake weights to show everyone here a lift with only an ok amount of weight and with bad form. If I were going to use fake weights, I’d do something more impressive than that…maybe a clean and press with like 300.
Neil
Neil, don’t discount the value of fake weights. Many of us have used them and found them quite helpful- especially with attracting women on these forums. Avoid the Star Trek foam rocks though when trying to look like a strong man. Nick pulled that one on us a few months back and we haven’t forgotten.
Ya know, when I worked with young kids they would often misinterpret my sarcasm. Ol Neil Diamond must still be in that stage of development. haha. i crack myself up sometimes. i cant believe that he really thought that i thought the weights were fake.
I could see the video just fine, but I had to copy and paste the link.
They’re not fake … and gold was playing you lil bitches.
It’s hard to tell with you, Goldberg.
Neil
Damn Neil, you stole my hair. . . And here I thought I was donating it to charity when I cut it. . . Although, it doesn’t look like you got it all, mine was down to my waist.
