I don’t know if I’d buy a PSP solely for Madden. It’s not back for a handheld, but if you don’t already have the system, not sure it’s worth spending over $200 of your money…unless you only plan on playing portable, then it wouldn’t be a bad idea.
Most sport games on portable systems aren’t that great, although there are some decent ones for the PSP. Madden’s good and NCAA isn’t bad as long as you get the “fixed” version of the game (the original had a terrible glitch that made it unplayable) and the MLB games aren’t bad, either.
I have a PS2, but it’s been collecting dust for the past year or two. So it make sense for me to buy the PSP. Do you know if the Madden game runs smoothly just like the PS2 version? no delays and stuff like that?
I did try out MLB on PSP at Best Buy the other day and it was pretty cool. Now if I was a baseball fan I’d definitely buy it. Maybe I still will. I need anything to kill the time till the new Madden comes out. Thanks for the 411.[/quote]
I hear ya…if you’re going to be playing mostly portable and won’t be upgrading to a PS3, then a PSP makes sense if you’re into sports games.
Madden runs great on PSP. No slowdown from what I’ve seen. I don’t own a PSP, but was considering it last year and borrowed a friend’s for a couple of weeks and I probably played 10-15 games of Madden and never had a gameplay problem.
The MLB games on PSP are also quite good.
I just wish Nintendo would come out with some quality sports titles for their handheld systems. I love my DS, but aside from Mario Kart, there’s no other sport game out for the system that’s any good.
The Madden games look and play like PS1 games and the recently released MLB 2K7 is unplayable b/c of all the bugs.
EA needs to step their game up and come out with a good version of Madden, a good version of Tiger (would translate SUPER to a handheld) and a good baseball or basketball sim.
