Guys, I am just in the middle of ordering a pair of vibram five fingers. Which ones do you suggest for lifting and weight training. Can I use the same shoe for running?
I ordered the sprints and starting using them a week ago. I can notice a HUGE difference in squats/deadlifts now, I’m just much more balanced than in shox (which are terrible squating shoes).
My form has really come along in the squat with it, I can get much deeper and control the weight better.
My friend has the KSO’s and the same applies to him, I like the sprints simply because you can run in them and get weird looks. I usually get blisters when running/sprinting but have had 0 from these shoes, they really are remarkable.
Hey ya’ll,
My after reading that Dan John article, I started a bit of reading about Vibram Five Fingers.
I came across this article how shoes are a big cause of our shin, hip problems…
I’ve picked up the KSOs and I’ve had em for bout a week and so far so good. Squats, Deads, and lunges seem a bit more natural, and I don’t get yelled at for walking round barefoot in the gym.
I haven’t done any sprints in em yet, so I’ll keep you posted.

I’ll probably get some of these soon to hopefully cure my shin splints. I’ve heard nothing but good stuff about them. They seem pretty unheard of here in Australia with like 2 shops selling them and 1 online supplier. They go for like $200 here.
For those of you in colder climates, don’t try running in these if the temp is less than freezing. I ran a quick half-mile the other day and nearly got frostbitten toes. It was 16 degrees Fahrenheit.
whoa, i never saw the white sprints! i’d stick with the 404 - Barefoot Running Blog but I do like the white.

Vicomte: Try the “Flow” model which is geared for colder weather use since it uses wetsuit material (name escapes me right now) to keep your toes/feet warmer than usual KSOs or Sprints.
Is this not like the 20th thread about VFFs about now on T-Nation? lol
btw; I know I’m cheap (usually on eBay) but seriously try to stay away from the fake knockoff VFF shit for if you get the counterfeits it will probably turn you off from the real thing -

Get yours from a real retailer. Costs more but worth the peace of mind. Yo.
