sorry for posting yet another foot related topic… and no!! I don’t have a foot fetish or anything. I’m gonna buy some shoes for basketball/running and I wanna know what are your experiences with shoes… The best ones I ever bought were a k-swiss unlimited(i think thats what is called) back when i was 12… they were fucking great!!! very comfortable and flexible… you??
I dont play basketball, so I wouldn’t know what baller shoes are the best, but for my all around everyday shoes, Sanuks! the make you feet smell, but who cares! well, except lady friends…
running: asics gt2x00
best shoes for every day use, by far, are vans slip ons. comfy as hell, versatile, good looking. what more could you want?
For everyday, I wear Keen sandals. Those things are awesome, I wear them pretty much year round.
For lifting/running, I generally wear Nike Free Trainers(since I was FINALLY able to find them again, without ordering online and paying too much). Used to wear Chucks when I would squat or deadlift, but have been using pretty much just the Frees since I got them, and wow. Deadlifting on Saturday, I suddenly became aware mid-set that I was trying to grip with my toes. Which is awesome, they are doing what they were designed for(strengthen/activate feet). Since running in them, I have noticed a decrease/almost total elimination of knee pain(leftover from a land nav course I did last spring - bruised the femurs and tibs of both legs from the constant pounding up and down mountains). Best shoes ever. And no, I don’t play b-ball, cause getting laughed at gets old.
I only lift and use cardio equipment, but I have a pair of Nike Frees for that. Ialso have some really flat pair of Adidas whose name starts with a K-something.
I have a pair of Clark’s walking shoes and Timberland boots for everything else. Those Clark’s are big heavy leather walking shoes. I get hit by a car and those shoes get cleaned off and given to my kids. Durable.
Merrell Intercepts
and Birkenstock Sandals stolen from my roommate in my 1st year of university

Im a Die Hard Puma fan and my next purchase will be these. Look at it! Look how clean the lines wraps around the sole. The color and off set balance of grey, white, and black that just screams elegance. MY GOD,The subtle “First Round” print. Germans make good stuff. OMG,I CAME.
There is a puma for everything I do… including lifting… I have 6 pairs.
Basketball: Nike Elites and a pair of Fila’s with Wade insoles.
regular: I bought a pair of 10 dollar loafers at Payless. Best shoes ever.

Anyone else feel a bit dirty all the sudden?
All around shoe I gotta go with Adidas shell toe. They’re pretty neutral soled and work well for deadlifting too.
Regular: Adidas Superstars. I always try something new but end up coming back to these. Also good if you like to randomly impersonate an 80s group.
Crimson eelskin slingback pumps, kitten heel. They were my reward for getting into law school and are still my favorite shoes.
I use a pair of Adidas canvas flat soled shoes for lifting, Nike Lunarlites for cardio/stair work, etc.
As for the title question on the absolute best shoe I’ve ever had? Brooks Beast. Especially great shoe for dudes over 180lbs. Once the current duo of shoes I’m using finally wears out (those Adidas are bulletproof) I’m going back to the Beast. One pair for everything is the way to go.

Hands Down, best “footwear” you can own.
My second are the diesel Line, they offer some rediculously comfy leather “shoe-sneakers” with a very minimal sole. I kinda feel like a stylish indian with a soft leather upper and a tiny padded sole. I bought one and immediately wore them in the shower and then walked around all day in them. The leather shrunk a little and formed right around my foot. No pressure points, just snugness everywhere.

what is the name of the diesel model you have? For a while I’ve been looking for a nice, low profile shoe to wear

Remey, there is a bunch of different remey styles though, Mine were the all leather, like this, only blue and grey. This black one is nice though.

I meant Remy.

Also might as well throw in my work shoes/ dress shoes. I mean I have a couple pair of actual dress shoes in black and brown, but 99% of the time these pass. Skechers Midnight, also very thin soled, soft leather upper, fits my foot very well.
