I’m considering purchasing a vertical leg press for my home gym. I’m really not interested in arguments that squats are the better exercise - this has been covered elsewhere. I would be interested in comments from people who have used/owned a vertical leg press.
Are they hard on the back?
Do you recommend a certain brand?
Are they worth the money? (most are under $300)
Are the slanted (7 deg) presses any better than the vertical?
I have a vert leg press and it is as close to squats as you can get without squating, and there is no danger to your back as long as you don’t roll up on the descent. Use a position that keeps the shins close to verticle and don’t go below your torso.

Just don’t buy one without trying it out first. There are many differences in them–quality, angle, etc. Some good, others not so good. Try b4 U buy…!
