I don’t think he does
so awesome
whats his 40 like? I’m sure its in the 4.2s. What is he doing not playing in the nfl??? I’m sure he could destroy some people at safety.
Hey guys, I can’t seem to find the official record for the standing/running vertical jump?! Why is is so difficult to find this?! Makes no sense to me. Does anyone know what it is?

I absolutely agree!

I remember reading some time ago about a 16 yr old kid from Cuba who played on the junior national volleyball team that jumped 50"…
SquatDr did quote his 40 yard dash as timed by a SpeedTrap2 laser timing device with a touch pad start recently. I’ll see if I can find it, but he off course is setting PRs ona regular basis sprint wise, so it maybe old by now
With all these Volleyball jumps, they usually mean with an approach. None of the Volleyball players will ever be strong enough to vertical jump 50 inches standing flat footed.
There are a few guys in the world, in the street ball dunking scene that can jump 50-52 inches off a run on 2 legs.
I think SquatDR’s running jump PR may have been 55.5 inches, not the 54.5 I put down. I just subtracted 12 feet from his 7’5.5" standing reach in shoes to get 54.5. But he may have touched over 12 feet, rather than just nick it with a finger nail. So It should be at least 55 inches ![]()
Not bad at all either way. Once upon a time Alan jumped in the low 30s, shows what you can do when you get your legs and hips really big and push the squat up to triple bodyweight area. He has upper thighs in the 30+ inch range at sub 10% bodyfat.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. The limiting factor in jumping is strength, and not speed. The human body is extremely heavy, and anyone can extend an unweighted leg more than fast enough, but when the weight of the body is added onto that, it slows down leg/hip extension speed way down.
Chimps in research have been shown to jump far higher than an average human. And they are also proportionally much stronger than us, but also slower…
Men are stronger than women, and they also jump higher on average.
And the strength difference is largely due to bigger muscles

I highly doubt that.
as far as his 40 yard dash goes, not sure
but he did a 30 meter laser timed in 3.76secs
40 yard dash = 36.5 metres
so low 4 secs for sure.
he sent me a video a while back, which he put on his youtube channel, but he deleted it, and he gave me this description
the video is 40 yards timed automatically. it was in response to some local “acceleration” programs that said i couldnt run that fast. so they wanted me to video it and the time. i ran about 6 of them ranging from 4.29 to 4.42. two of the six didnt time correctly. some things to consider though with the vid and timed this method is that, my first movement is made, but my hand is still on the timer for several frams (maybe .08 give or take) so to get real FAT timing this would have to be added on. this is the only major inaccurate aspect about the speed trap but with the reaction time function, can be resolved (so my races with reaction times should be accurate).
there is always so much BS on 40 yards in the US that i hate to get dragged into the hype. i know at the NFL combine chris johnson ran 4.24 hand timed but no spikes, no blocks, and on a softer surface, so probably similiar times.
as you can tell from watching the video, i lack quad flexability as my “step over” is limited with a very low foot recovery. my calves him my hamstrings before i can get a big turnover, i also run tight and my arm angles could be better, but i am at the point now where i just shut the brain off and run.

Leonel Marshall has been living in Italy for a while and was born in 1979 and can fly
Enjoy it!
Marshall is ridiculous, but I doubt his standing vert is anywhere close to 50 (same goes for Ziani). What he does have is insane hang time, which obviously comes in handy for his sport. Both him and Ziani cover a ton of ground when they jump (notice where he takes off from and Ziani’s 360 dunks over people/convertibles) and hang in the air for seconds, which transfers over to their sports a lot more.
hang time for a certain jump is the same, it’s just an illusion. If you jump 50 inches the hang time will be the same regardless of what it looks like

regardless of him being rougly 6’2" or so…he’s getting his nipples to the top of the net which is roughly 8 ft high.
just sick.
drSquat did the same and then some I think…
Can anione find a video of Mireya Luis?
She pound by pound was the best jumper ever. Standing at 5,10 she could reach 11 feet!
I saw that woman playing in 1990 and just couldn’t believe what she did when she spiked a ball at the top of the volleyball antenna
there you go
probably the highest jumping female ever!
stats from an old Volleyball mag I have from 1994.
27 years old 69kg 152lbs
175cm 5’9" tall
spike reach 335cm 11’
2 hand block 316cm 10’4.4"
2 hand block is a standing jump I presume
anyone know her standing reach? Some articles say she has a 36 inch vertical jump. She must have pretty long arms then
So that would mean she jumps about 4.5 inches higher off a run.

Either a standing jump or a one step+2 feet jump
For everyone who is interested in increasing their speed, I would say this is a must read. Seeing how a pro like this trains.
He also only trains bench press, occassionally as he doesn’t want too get big. Cos this guy is hugeee.
There was a programme on tv over here a while ago and some it showed the British sprinters training, and they were all doing O-lifts.
