V-Diet Log, Second Time Around

Yea, Past few days have been extremely busy. Everything is going according to the plan. Just had a HSM in the form of chicken breast, brocolli, and green beans. After this weekend I should be back to regular updates. I’ll add pictures and new measurements on monday.

OK good to hear you are still rollin. HSM sounds tasty, I eat chicken and broc every day, my favorite meal.

After this weekend, only one more week. Finish strong man!

Weighed in today at 172.2 (strangly 1.4 pounds more than last time I weighed in but oh well, I don’t put much faith in the scale anyway.

Measurements
Waist (Hip area, between belly button and chest) 32" to 31.5"
Waist (Around belly button) 34 1/2" to 33 3/4"
Chest 38" to 37"
Arms 13 1/4" to 13 3/4" (Maybe the bicep workout of the superhero program is kicking in?)
Forearms 11 1/2" stayed the same
Thighs 23" to 22 1/2"
Calves 16 1/2" to 16"
Neck 15 1/4" to 15"

I think I’m gonna keep photos until it’s over, you know, for dramatic effect.

I did have a disturbing experience when someone attempted to shove a cinnamon roll in my mouth to get me to eat something (I think this may be the extreme of what Chris refers to as “toxic” people) So needless to say I had a little bit of cinnamon roll in my mouth and it tasted good as normal but there was something different. It wasn’t psychologically as pleasing as food used to be. After I spit whatever i had in my mouth out I thought I really don’t care to have that. Sure it tastes good, but eggs and chicken taste better.

This leads to my theory that the people at Biotest have added some sort of chemical into the Metabolic Drive that erases our need for sugar and replaces it with protein and fat. After most of the nation has completed the V-Diet, they’ll quickly transform into a Grocery Store chain selling only the leanest cuts of meat, the best fats, and thus cornering the market and putting all the other stores out of business.

Or maybe it just means we don’t actually need any of the random processed carbohydrates we normally stuff our mouths with.

Nah I’m stickin with my original idea, it’s much cooler.

I’ll be back to updating regularly at least until friday (not sure if I’m heading home or not but I’ll be able to update none the less) It’s actually been nice to be on the V-Diet as I’ve been so busy throughout this week, no need for food preparation or actually time to consume it, I can chug one of these shakes and flax seeds in under a minute by now haha. And no just because I was busy didn’t mean I had no time to workout, you’d have to break both my arms and legs to keep me out of the weight room.

Congrats to all of those who have recently finished up the V-Diet as well, and go hard through that transition period. I’ve about completed what I’m going to do for the transition period (Mainly shakes, but going to add in some HIIT and Morning Cardio and probably go 2 meals a day the first week, and three the second keeping calories in reason)

Nice work Higgins, coming along good. How are you holding up with the Superhero Program? Looks like you are making good progress. I am thinking about running that program this summer on a cutting diet. I know I asked you about this once before, just checkin to see if the program is still going good for you while on the V-Diet.

Sorry for the triple post, but on the Superhero program, are you going to failure on all the exercises, or leaving 1-2 reps “in the hole” so to speak.

Program’s going very well with the V-Diet, I have to take the healthy solid meal the day before or day of the leg workout as its the most taxing. I usually go to “failure” (as in I can’t do anymore, whether it’s mental or physical) on most sets. If I do I usually just average out the weight, for instance tonight on I did 1 set of 175, 2 sets of 165 and 1 set of 155 for 6 reps on incline press so I usually just put 165 for the weight. It’s hard for sure but doable on the v-diet.

On that note, drank some more shakes, flax seeds, half serving of Surge 5 gs of creatine twice (once pre and once post workout)

Here’s the workout

A. Incline bench press
4 x 6 reps 165 lbs

B1. Low-incline dumbbell press (stop short of lockout)
3 x 12 reps 45 lbs

B2. Incline cable flies
3 x 12 reps 60 lbs

C. Bench press
1 x 100 reps 50 lbs

D. Barbell curl
5 x 5 reps 70 lbs

Then for abs

Machine Crunch
3 x 6 using 5-0-5 tempo, 110 lbs

Swiss Ball Crunch
3 x Max

Supposed to do kneeling cable crunch as well but there was 10 minute wait at the minimum on it so I was a pussy and skipped out on it.

Nice bro, thanks for the response. That definitely clears things up. Are you using a specific tempo as well, or just exploding the lifting part and controlling the release, or exploding both ways?

As far as tempo goes, unless noted in the workout program, explode up, control the release. This is just naturally how I’ve always lifted.

Today is day 24, got through sunday. Should eat a healthy solid meal tomorrow before leg work.

Weighed in today at 170.6, so back down a little. (Why can’t I get into the 160s =[, and why do I care how much I weigh?)

I know novagreg and others aren’t concerned about scale weight, but rather how their clothes fit. So maybe if you look better in the mirror, and your clothes are looser, than you are making good progress.

Yeah this is true, I know scale weight is pretty much worthless and to go by measurements but theres just something about seeing 160. I fit into size 30 pants the other day for the first time ever (Thank you clothing industry for making pants bigger than what it says there size is) I love how people fit into 32 pants from somewhere and their waist is easily 38 inches.

You started at 184, and are now at 170.6 with 4 days to go, 165 is definitely within reach. I know you said you will have your HSM pretty soon, and might gain some water weight back from that, but the last 3 days, losing those last few pounds to get you to 165 (or less) is in sight.

Go get it big dawg!

Sorry, had computer problems the past few days. Everything is going according to plan although I am ending the diet today on day 27, I’d like to start my new running program tomorrow when I don’ have school to play around with it a little bit. I’ll get measurements, pics etc up tomorrow
