Agreed. When I was in, I was assigned to a hospital unit and my “combat” role was anything they needed (i.e. litter bearer, guard, etc). Carrying guys on litters is not an easy thing and you definitely need to be in somewhat decent shape to do it without hurting somebody.
Truth - especially the pole-less variant. It’s like the worst version of a farmer’s / suitcase carry.
