EDIT: We should still review some new options on gettings these goddamn supplements over here. Maybe I should start importing them and only add a tiny markup, so that we don’t all get ripped off.

I’m interested.

Depending on what percentage mark up you’re talking about, of course.[/quote]

Well I am having a look at this - would have to see how much interest there is but also a possibility.

I would have a minimal markup - obviously don’t wanna rip anyone here off, but make it affordable to order supplements from this site - internationally.

keep us posted rsg… id be up for it defo. some HOT-ROX Extreme and im interested in trying some of their other products but the price puts me off big style…

if anyone owns a sports related business… they could potentially import them with a smaller charge and also be able o claim the VAT back which would mean it wud work out even cheaper…
am i talking too dodgy here?

cheers

just a thought, and i havent even bothered looking into what im about to say so here goes: using an american contact, maybe one of our trusted from the steroids forum - i generally only post there so dont think im calling others untrustworthy; could recieve our collective order and funds, buy the supplements and send them as a gift to our nominated distributor in the uk, who can then post them round etc, henceforth, gifts as i know are not subject to charges when using ebay, but i am probably wrong.

This all seems like a lot of effort to me. Bottom line is, the stuff isn’t manufactured here, the bulk retailers in this country sell it way over priced purely because of the ridiculous import duties. I can’t see how individuals could work around that.

Even with the strength of the pound relative to the dollar it is one very expensive way to buy supplements.

Say you use a mail forwarding company in the US, or we arrange with someone else one the site willing to help out (with respect on the forum, and we offer an incentive): Free shipping from Biotest if you place a large order in the US, if they agree to forward the package as a gift then you have just saved a packet on shipping and import duties.

Bam, everyone saves money. Is my thinking flawed?

no… now all we need to do is find someone to help.

but how long is this likly to take… like 2 weeks from placeing the order is my thinking.

then how do you return if you dont like it/ get the wrong thing/ its contaminated etc etc etc…

still up for it though.

Cheers

Scott

Any news?

yea… any from anyone or is this dead in the water?

lol, yes you are if you caught teh ghey…

sorry couldnt resist

ok my irish brain is about to implode.

Here’s an idea. Might be naive, but i feel it’s worth a try. All the other schemes hatched in here are conditional on ’ a sport supplement retailer, who won’t charge us a large markup ’ or ‘a friend of a guy who likes his steroids, sending us a gift’. I personally would have a big problem sending £300 of my Biotest supplemnets to some guy in USA, and just having to trust and wait for him to forward them. Shit, i don’t trust banks, even.

How about we do a petition, everyone who buys from T-Nation intermittently, asking Biotest to set up a relationship with a reputable and cheap distribution arm in the UK? US prices +15% would be okay, compared to the current X2 or X3 markup. I saw Power Drive for £26!. If Biotest set something up, i’d buy all my stuff from them. It would be worth it.

Think about how much stuff people like us buy. If it was freely and conveniently available for us, i’m sure each UK member would spend at least £500 more, each, on T-Nation supplements in a year. This is without even considering Europe.

Please support and cosign clearly

Reread posts before me. Ya shady bastard

DR, I like that idea - it would be nice to get some input from TC about the chances of something like this happening. From what I’ve seen, on top of the already long time UK members here, there have recently been a fair amount more new members joining up from these parts, which means a lot more potential business.

That, and I would’ve thought people in the rest of Europe would have an easier time ordering from the UK as opposed to the States.

After looking into a mail-forwarding company, it seems like an ineffective idea as it doesn’t seem likely they would label anything as a “gift”, plus there is a lot of effort to set up an account with one of these guys.

Ok then spread the word.

People have to buy their powders, fat burners and whatnot from somewhere. I’ve noticed many many teenagers who aren’t quite ready to settle down and listen yet, and i have a feeling that they’d snap up HRX at £25-28, but not at £40, and the list could go on. Current situation for UK just prevents any impulse or lone purchases.

Not necessarily through loyalty at first, but through familiarity with the site from the articles and forums, kids (and also the core market, in which i include us all) would buy more, which means more profit for T-Nation, and also for the agent who buys it from them. Lets get some cosigns. UK stand up!
