Upper Back/Neck Injury Help Needed

Any suggestions on the best way to recover from a pinched nerve/pulled muscle? I was doing pullups 2 nights ago and on my last rep I felt a sharp pain in my trap/upperback area so I lowered myself back down, the pain subsided and I tried to hammer out 1 more rep. On that last rep it felt like someone stabbed me on the right side of my upper back/ lower neck. I couldnt turn my head either way without feeling pain. It hurts to lower my chin to my chest but it doesnt bother me to stretch my head back.

I went to the Dr. yesterday and he gave me a shot of Toradol and prescribed Ultracet (pain) and Cyclobenzaprine (muscle relaxer).

Any other suggestions on how to fix/alleviate the pain? It has subsided some since the shot but still hurts like hell. Chiropractor? Accupuncture?

I HATE not being in the gym.

Several years ago something similar happened (but not this bad) when I was doing upright rows. It started to feel better after a couple weeks so I hit the gym. I ended up f’cking it up worse thatn it was before and I couldnt do shit for like 6 weeks.

How long should I wait before working out again?

Chiro and ART help as does the accupuncture if the accupunturist is skilled. I heal best from accupuncture.

I’ve dealt with the same thing for the last ten years. I wish I hadn’t waited a year and a half to see a Chiroprator. Shit works.

If the pain doens’t go away soon, you should have it diagnosed properly. No amount of art is going to do anything if you tore a musle or something.
