More on-topic. I live in an area with a significant Asian population, mostly Cambodian, Vietnamese & Thai
Dude, Thai food is fucking good, Vietnamese/Cambodian food is good too, just stay the fuck away from fish sauce. And when they say spicy, those fuckers mean it.
I can’t even go near a “Chinese food” place after having authentic digs. But Boss is dead on, most take-out places are run by other Asian groups.
lol, shit is so gross. If the canister breaks in the bag I become instantly infuriated, because your car and house smells like rotten foot/vagina for like a week.

have you actually ever eaten chinese food or have you only eaten that “pretend” greasy buffet bullshit?
in china, the food is far nicer than the chinese food here.
I got stomache aches from eatin so much.
Absolutly delicious.[/quote]
I have only eaten ‘‘chinese’’ (greasy buffet bullshit) food, I never tried real chinese food.
For you people claiming Americanized chinese food isn’t real chinese food, what do you want everyone to call it? I’ve heard the argument that food in China is way different, and that’s all good and well, but I’m not going to start calling chinese food Americanized chinese food every time I mention it.
It’s chinese food. You can call your version of chinese food REAL chinese food if you want.

What about Chinese fast food, such as Panda Express? You see mexicans in the back making the food. Is it still Americanized chinese food, or mexican? Either way, food is good. I had my fair share of chinese food, and haven’t got sick yet, especially those chinese buffets. But hands down, the Korean BBQ buffets are much better!
I’ve had my fair share of fast-food Chinese food, even from not-so-great neighborhoods. I’ve never gotten sick. The place isn’t very clean, but no fast-food Chinese restaurants are clean. My dad’s gotten food poisoning once from the place up the block, but it was a fluke. The people there are really nice, although I’m not sure if they’re Chinese. Btw, I don’t really understand the whole real-Chinese-food argument. Cheeseburgers, no matter how high or low the quality, are still considered American cuisine. Oh speaking of ethnic places in NYC, go to a place called Kenka. I’ve really been wanting to go, but no one is adventurous enough. =(
I like Chinese food. But that fast food crap makes me sick. If I eat to much I seriously feel like I’m going to puke. It sucks because it’s really hard to find a real Chinese restaurant where the food isn’t just cheap mass produced garbage covered in sauce.

Really? If the food in China is nicer than the Chinese in Ireland, the shit in Ireland must be horrifying.
I had a hard time just looking at some of the crap they eat in China. Once place put a fish on my plate that looked like it had jumped out of a river and died (and dried out) on the shore. I lost my appetite quick. Nope, they can keep their chicken’s feet and fish head buffets.
Yes. Yes it does. Even though I myself am Chinese, I can’t handle Chinese food. I can eat it, but it makes me feel like crap and loose my appetite. Even with ‘reputable’, ‘clean’ places that cater to…uh…non-Chinese people. I suspect it might be the MSG content, or maybe just self-loathing lol

Holy mother-fuck. The first week I was in Thailand, one of my friends asked if I liked spicy food, thinking I liked ‘spicy’ food, I said yes, and I was suggested to get the Thai seafood salad. I agreed, and the kid said “Lek (the cook), a seafood salad for Ryan… he likes spicy food!”
A few bites in, I could hardly feel anything in my mouth, my cheeks, right under my eyes were sweating so damn hard I was asked if I was crying, and was screaming for someone to get me a bottle of water. (There wasn’t any milk.) I drank 3 liters of water in less than 20 minutes trying to get that shit out of my mouth.
I honestly may have been crying from, but I was in far too much pain to remember.
That was the first and last time I had Thai seafood salad.
I did finish the dish, though. However, ‘inhaling’ would be a better choice of wording as I just tried to get it over with as soon as possible.
But fuck, all this talk about chinese food makes me want to get a tray of sesame chicken. (I’m in NY, at the moment, so it’s delicious.)
If you make the right choices, its unlimited meat and broccoli (and other vegetables) and the one I liked the most in Philly served baked salmon as well…good times.
