Did someone say Rom?

Kevinm1, I seriously think you rival me as this site’s geekiest geek!!!

ROM nostalgia: didn’t “The Torpedo” spin off of ROM? He’s the guy with the special suit with rocket power or something like that. I believe his real name was Brock something, he was an ex-football player who found the suit which was a prototype for the dire wraiths to use. Something like that.[/quote]

I enjoy comics it’s my thing
Plus everything I read I remeber about 80% of it without trying

Marvel Premeire was a series in the 70’s-80’s and I remember an issue involving him on the cover. I used to just buy comics every Sat, I would ride the green line to Waltham and go see my old man at his job, we would then go to a comic book store and I would grab the back issues with the best covers. Ah memories

Bad ass Avengers painting

Thor, as he should have been realized in the comics as.

This was one of my favorite posters I had it up on my wall for years. My ex fiance moved in and tore it off the wall in one of her cleaning sprees. Still brings tears to my eyes thinking of what that woman made me do.

For years I stopped reading comics, I couldn’t buy toys it, my figures where shoved in a sack. Excuse me I have to go shove someone done the stairs now

Hell yea… God of Thunder!

Nice

I had that! It was not made well and the electronics failed the first month…

Is everyone missing one of the best Mavel movies to date?

Blade

Yes the screwed sequels somewhat but come on, I almost wet myself when the opening sequence rolled.

Submariner is slated for a 2010 release also.

Ice-man. I wanna see an Ice-man movie. No, spiderman and his amazing friends. Now THATS an idea for a movie; so wholesome and kid friendly!

With Ms Lyon and Aunt May having a heart attack every other episode??
I think I still have those on VHS somewhere from when they where re broadcast on the Marvel Action Universe with Robocop and Dino Riders.

What an awesome Hulk trailer. Just awesome. It’s Hulk beating the shit out of Abomination:

http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1808495230/video/7950136/

And here’s a glimpse of what Captain America could be. It’s also from the upcoming Hulk movie but illustrates what the super soldier serum can do for a man:

Finally, from the same page, click on the link to the MTV place. More Hulk stuff.

Ah so they give homeboy the super soldier serum and he turns into the abomination. That makes me a sad Kevin, in best youtube impersionation LEAVE CAPTAIN AMERICA ALONE!!!

I said ok when when Wolverine’s claws came out of the middle of his hands, I was fine with organic webs, it made sense that Alicia Master was black, I could even be ok with an american soldier being evil, but to put in the super soldier serum as a fan boy I take issue

I hear you. However I think it might make some sense: the super soldier serum used by Steve Rogers appears to be a one of a kind formula. The goal I think was to test it out on Steve before mass producing it. I think the formula Steve took was never again duplicated, OR Steve was a one of a kind individual whole physiology took to the serum like no other individual could.

So, they give the serum to one of the soldiers and I think it perhaps goes amuck in his system which turns him into Abomination.

Again, it looks like Marvel studios is trying to make the Ultimate Universe versions of the heros intermixed with the 616 continuity. In the Ultimates, Bruce Banner was trying to use Steve Rogers blood to help him with his own issues.

Unfortuneatly it’s now been changed. In Avenger’s Initive there wasa a character named MVP, he’s the grandson of the inventor of the ss formula they assume that he’s been given the formula so he’s kicked out of sports called a cheater etc. he winds up getting killed in a training accident and upon autopsie they discover that he never had the ss serum not only that but the serum was just vitamins adn tghe true secret was a bunch of “core” excerises. I shit you not Marvel is so afraid of the balco backlash that they’ve rewritten almost 70yrs of history, and people wonder why I’m a DC fan

Actually, I haven’t seen any change in the Cap story line like that. MVP was a different character, a kid (MVP were literally the initials in his real name). He was extremely good at ALL sports so they ASSUMED that he had taken the same formula. MVP turned out to just be extremely genetically gifted, something they didn’t find out until his death (he had a hole blown through his head by another mutant with an alien gun attached to her arm).

I don’t see how that affects the Cap story line at all.

In the Inititive Annual they do the an origin for the current characters like Gauntlet, and during MVP’s origin they make a mention of it. The book also specifically mentions Cap saying he didn’t need the ss serum.
