How bout the real Captain America to play Captain America. Randy Couture.
May 12, 2008 - While it looks like Marvel Studios’ big screen version of Thor is in need of a new director, the rumor mill suggests the studio is nevertheless moving ahead with casting and is mulling a certain A-list star to play their god of thunder.
According to Latino Review, Marvel is eyeing none other than Brad Pitt to play Thor. Pitt’s no stranger to playing ancient armored heroes, having previously portrayed Achilles in Wolfgang Petersen’s Troy.
The site points out that “no offer has been made to Pitt yet,” but that he’s high up on their wish list.
NO NO NO NO NO.
I figured out who could play Capt America, John Cena. I was watching the Marine last night, it sucks by the way, and he lifts up a bulletproof vest when Robert Patrick was firing at him I stopped and thought Captain America.
I have to point out that any/all marvel films that come out now are going to be so much better than those that came before.
Marvel themselves are now doing the movies whereas before it was universal or 20th century fox etc that made the movies and marvel just advised, but now that the real creators of the comics are making the films we should be in for some gems rather than the shit that has been released in the past years(x men 3 electra ghost rider).
P.S. if brad pitt plays thor someones gonna die!

Marvel Movie Slate Update
Studio boss dishes on Thor, Captain America.
by Stax
May 22, 2008 - Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has shot down a few rumors and spilled a few beans about some of the comic book company’s upcoming film slate.
Sci Fi Wire visited the editing bay of The Incredible Hulk where Feige spoke with the assembled journalists about Thor, The First Avenger: Captain America, and Iron Man 2.
Feige said rumors of Matthew McConaughey being in the running to play Captain America are untrue, and revealed that most but not all of Thor will be set in the Norse realm of Asgard.
Mark Protosevich is expected to turn in his rewrite of the Thor screenplay soon with a new director to be announced “later this summer” (perhaps at Comic-Con?).
Iron Man 2 is slated for release April 30, 2010, with Feige stating that Marvel has now entered talks with director Jon Favreau about returning to helm the sequel.
P.S. Yes, that is Cap’s shield seen on Tony Stark’s table in Iron Man.

Maybe Pitt is Don Blake? The 60’s-80’s and present Alter ego of the Thor? I could see that he can fake a limp like Blakes he did it in 12 monkey’s

If that guy plays Thor that will be one of the worst casting jobs of alll time.
IMDB has Kevin McKidd (Lucius Vorenus from Rome) rumored for Thor.
kevinm1 mentioned in another thread that at one point Tyler Mane (Sabertooth from the first X-Men) was rumored for the role.[/quote]
He’s gonna need to put on about 40lbs of muscle [at least], but that’s not a bad choice. Who has a time machine so we can get Dolph Lundgren circa 1990?

The thing I posted about stated that most but not all of Thor will be in Asgard.
Oh yes HHH and dude from Rome up for role of Thor

Although HHH looks the part more, I think Kevin McKidd is a better choice. McKidd would have to put on a significant amount of size to pull it off though.
Actually, I don’t think casting Brad Pitt as Thor is that horrible of an idea. I thought he got his physique to a rather respectable level in Troy.
With a 12 week course of Test Cyp + Tren and some bodybuilding specific training, I do think his physique could represent Thor. There is the height thing, but there are camera angles and CGI magic that can make those adjustments for size (see Lord of the Rings).
I too have been following any info on the Thor movie, and I have also read that the Thor movie was going to take place in the Asgardian realm. See the latest Thor: Ages of Thunder series (just beginning) to get a glimpse of what might be the central themes to the movie.
I have enjoyed reading what you all think…
I for one was reading comics (marvel) through most of the 70s and all the 80s and Thor was by far my fav of all the heros…
My Second by the way, was Rom the space knight…
Any who… I think that they will fuck it up with Thor… and mostly due to the fact the story telling in the movies are dwarfed by the comics… The X-men had way better stories in print… and yea I know you can’t just screen play that stuff on the big screen but story telling is story telling, that and the action is not that good…
The Matrix had better action than most of the marvel movies…
Sad, but thats what I think…
By the way I really hope I am wrong on this… please. please.

Goodness gracious me…ROM the spacenight and the dire wraiths!!! ROM was ALSO one of my absolute favorite titles!!! Micronauts was also another.

Did someone say Rom?

Kevinm1, I seriously think you rival me as this site’s geekiest geek!!!
ROM nostalgia: didn’t “The Torpedo” spin off of ROM? He’s the guy with the special suit with rocket power or something like that. I believe his real name was Brock something, he was an ex-football player who found the suit which was a prototype for the dire wraiths to use. Something like that.
