Wasn’t Thor in Adventures in Babysitting? haha
Yes, hahahaha!

Oh crap. Does anybody else still remember that Nick Fury TV movie that starred David Hasselhoff and Lisa Rinna?
It was just horrible.

So apparently The Punisher: War Zone will be coming out 12/5/08. Excerpt from an interview with Ray Stevenson about the character:

“Absolutely. It??s such a complex character. I love the fact that he??s not a superhero??bullets don??t bounce off. He??s just a dark soul on a mission. One of my main concerns was that it was an incredibly violent piece of work. In meeting with [the producers] I said, ??I do not want people walking out of the theater wanting to be the Punisher.?? I saw this quizzical look across their faces. I explained, ??We don??t want some sort of Columbine [incident]. What we want to do is create a character who operates on such a dark level that you don??t want to be him. There is no light at the end of the tunnel for him.?? You??re glad he??s there and you can??t wait to see what he does next, but it comes at a price. If we get it right, there won??t be people wanting to be the Punisher, or to be a vigilante in any way.”

Looks like he has the right idea.
That can’t be right, that’s only 4 days away, surely they wouldn’t release it without masses of publicity?

This is another ‘google it’ question, but what’s the difference between the Avengers and the Ultimates respective universes? I’ve read a book based on the Ultimates, so I know about the whole Thor being a nutter with super powers instead of a God thing (not that he is, that’s just peoples impression of him) and the whole Captain America and Wasp / Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch twincest thing, and I also gather that although the members of the Avengers and the Ultimates differ in the majority, some are the same, but the whole different universe thing? Was it just a way of creating new stories based on the same characters or how did it all come about?

To you guys, we write dates backwards here in the States. The release date according to this is December 5, 2008

Bollocks my bad. Sorry, it’s been a long day already and in the 5 minutes I get to stop work, I completely misread something. Arse.

Off-topic but… Thor being introduced in IM2 sounds very cool.

Cheers.

The intro scene had better be Thor dropping the hammer on Stark’s pompous ass. Anything else would be disrespectful.
Read the new Thor series from Marvel, issue three to be specific…he does way more than just drop the hammer on him. “He shows him the difference between a god and a man in an iron suit”

Thor…Dominic Purcell

Capt. America…

BiG BeN, are those the confirmed players or who you think should? Purcell seems too short for the part but I could live with the Captain America choice.

He’d really have to hit the gym for that role. No matter how they water down some of the other characters, Captain America and Luke Cage are not tiny people.

Confirmed by fan site.

I agree, I have no idea why bigger characters are being played by slim guys…really getting annoying!

Really wasn’t happy with Spiderman 3: Venom.

Few others on the list too:

the Venom plot was completely ruined, tied with the Green Goblin, Venom is Spider-Man’s absolute worst enemy. They really dropped the ball on that one.

Haha, yup big time! I mean Eddie Brock was basically a jock in high school, and was still a big guy in the comics when he met back up with Peter. I don’t get it.

Dominic is a cool looking guy, but man that guy needs a major muscle overhaul. Dude’s got a big head for a small body, haha you just look at him and wish he would have worked out early on!!!

Wait Wait Wait. Thor is a God. Not a crazy man with a belt of super powers, but a fucking God. I will be really pissed if they try some Ultimates bullshit. Its not like changing Nick Fury, an obscure character. Thor is one of the top superheroes of all comics. A founding Avenger. I hope they don’t fuck him over. I hope they don’t.

Nick Fury isn’t that obscure. I think you may want to actually buy a few of these newer issues before you judge it that way.

Nick Fury might as well be one of the Avengers lately.

The Ultimate Universe hasn’t “fucked him over”. They simply made it more realistic as far as how others view what is going on. He still speaks the same…it is just that the rest of the world is less likely to see him as a “God”.

I thought that in the ultimates he actually was a god, but everyone just thought he was jack willy nuts, but powerful as hell. I dont understand how someone could think that a dude who could take on the Hulk in a fist fight is going to have a problem with a rocket? Plus he has viking fighting skills.

Have you seen the guy that plays Juggernaught (on X-men 3) in real life. They can do some pretty amazing stuff with CGI and funky costumes. Maybe they can superimpose Purcells head on Magnus Samuelssons body or something for Thor.lol Is that really as stupid as it sounds?

Having just seen the Ironman movie earlier this week, I gotta say I wait with big time anticipation for 2. It delivered IMO. Asskickery of a high caliber, and a good nemesis.

As for the Dark Knight…just saw the clips…RIP Heath and thanks for what looks like an awesome performance.

OMC

P.S yeah scrotus…Vinnie Jones is the guy your thinking of. To be fair I’ve yet to see anyone play the part of the badass better. Check out “Lock Stock and 2 smoking barrels” & “Snatch”

It was ruined because it was forced, the studio wanted venom Rami didn’t, the studio won so what you got was a tacked on stalker instead of former cancer survivor brought to his knees buy a made up story and a rejected lover(the symbiot), which creates Venom “We are Venom” etc etc.

If that guy plays Thor that will be one of the worst casting jobs of alll time.

IMDB has Kevin McKidd (Lucius Vorenus from Rome) rumored for Thor.

kevinm1 mentioned in another thread that at one point Tyler Mane (Sabertooth from the first X-Men) was rumored for the role.

After how they made Superman look in his recent movie, I am just about ready for them to cast Woody Allen as Captain America.
