I was against he forum initially for reasons such as this. I was actually a member of the Dog Pound back in 2002 and saw that accomplish nothing. I don’t knoww hay they thought it would be different.
There was a thread recently where everyone wanted to know where many long time members went. I criticized the supplement industry during that thread, including Biotest. T.C mocked me once and changed his tune when I told him who I was, what I did, and who I worked with.
Give you a hint, serious lifters make fun of the supplement industry and the average forum member. Most people need to train, eat well, and spend less time on the net.

I don’t remember that.
Just to refresh my memory, who are you, what have you done, and who do you work with?
Not saying it isn’t true; just that I don’t remember.

Are you serious? I was here back then also and the original Dog pound didn’t work because there were not enough members in it. It was filled with people who were already the biggest people on the site at the time…which means there isn’t much to talk about. Advanced lifters are not concerned with the supplement of the week or the latest and greatest program.
That forum quit getting responses so people lost interest. Please let me know how the current version suffers from the same issue. It doesn’t. Responses have not died down. the average thread there gets read over 1-3,000 times or more so what are you getting at?
Do you see how long this thread is? Yet you think there is no interest? Really?

whoaaaa there who said anything about wanting to be in it? Obviously it would be stupid if somebody invited me when, like I said, I don’t really post that much any more. That wasn’t the point. I just found it a little strange to see some pretty small guys who aren’t making any progress. I understand what you’re saying about wanting to get new people in, and some of them just turning out to be disappointments. Sounds reasonable to me.
Then why make an entire fucking thread? If you all know of anyone who should be in it but isn’t, please, let me know. Most of the people complaining have the LEAST to show for all of their work, yet they jumped right in to throw stones at people who were invited into the T-Cell.
That is fucking pathetic. How many people on this site do we even have who are my size or close to it who post regularly? Anyone?
You really are a fucking tool aren’t you?
WHEN i get to 250lb you would never hear me say something like “…How many people on this site do we even have who are my size or close to it…?” - it is pure self gratification and truly embarrassing to read.
I too train and eat to grow as large as i possibly can, i control body fat, i don’t drink nor smoke and i don’t do rec. drugs… i live for muscle gain. So?
My level of experience dictates that i find the BB forum unchallenging for the most part, what little posts there are of interest are cluttered with crap and it is too much of a chore to get to the juice. The T-Cell was elitist, and i rarely posted there before i left.
You thrive here simply because you can practice your internet bravado unchallenged as you have a post count above most others - with the closest being Rain jack - who is a bigger arsehole than you.
If being a member here for so long means you become a twat like you - then i will make sure i leave before then.
You may be large… you may have experience, but so what? That means you can make interesting posts… and may have an advantageous point of view occasionally but thats it.
Your attitude is far from justified.
You are an arrogant twat.
I am not about to enter an argument about me, you or anything - i just wanted to make my pov clear, sir.

Wait, so the T-Cell was the attempt to bring some substance back to the bodybuilding forum…but since you think it is “elitist” (because it kept out the people cluttering the board with crap as you put it) this makes it negative?
Is this some really cheap attempt at “damned if you do and damned if you don’t”?

Why do you think anyone cares about your opinion of the T-Cell?
You could have saved this entire post. Have a great day.
I’ve made my (critical) views on T-Cell Alpha known when it was started, and went through its first soap opera phase. Ultimately, it turns out to be just another forum, with the usual problems. Sometimes I read some stuff, but mostly, it doesn’t interest me much, so I ignore it - that’s also what I tend to do with the posters I don’t like. Somehow this enables me to enjoy the whole site just the way I like. I can only recommend that approach.
I honestly don’t get why people are hating on the Cell… outside of their inability to “get” what it’s really for.
Is it an elitist forum? I would say exclusive is a better word to use. And, given a lot of the material that floats around the bodybuilding forum, I think a little exclusivity is a good thing. And, if you don’t get the criteria for it’s exclusivity, you really just haven’t been paying enough attention to this site (or the numerous discussions about it) over the last year or so to warrant bitching about it in the first place. So, no, OP, you haven’t “read around the site a lot” of this is still some mystery to you.
Honestly, I would say 9/10 the people who voice problems with the Cell do so simply because they are mad that they can’t post there (you don’t really hear any Cell members bitching about it), and 10/10 of the people who don’t bother reading it simply because they can’t post in there are the exact type of people we wouldn’t want sharing their thoughts in the first place.
Out of curiosity, how many people out there whining about people less impressive than themselves being in the Cell have actually asked a member for permission to join?
How many people have sent a PM to the Prof, Tirib, Aragorn, etc. and said, “Look, here are some pictures of my progress to date. Check some of my posts (or my log) - I ask serious questions and give serious answers in the bodybuilding forum. I may not be the biggest guy on the site, but I am paying my dues, and I think I have shown enough respect to the sport and this forum to warrant being able to have better access to those who are more qualified to help me reach my goals than a lot of the other clowns in the BB forum. If you would at least consider me for membership, I would certainly appreciate it and do my best to take full advantage of it.”

This also has zero to do with what I originally wrote about.
“The only thing I wanted from this was an explanation. I wanted to know why there were mediocre people putting their shortcomings on display in an otherwise good section. Professor X wanted to bring something new and interesting into the forum, and he thought these kids had potential. That makes sense. They didn’t perform as expected. As far as I’m concerned, that satisfies my question, and there never really needed to be further discussion. It’s not a bad forum, it’s still the best place for serious, quality information.”
Maybe if you were the only person whining about the Cell (hint: you’re not) or if I actually quoted you in my response tho this thread (read: I didn’t), this little bump of yours would have been a real zinger.

This is a serious question, by the way.
That’s petty much what it takes, if you’re not a total dumb ass, respect what we’re trying to do here at T-Nation you can pretty much get in. The cell, if memory serves, was made in an effort to avoid 20 review my program, cut or bulk and other extremely common threads that were flooding the other forums and learn from the guys who’ve already been there.
This is fucking awesome…I’m having a shit day and pissed as fuck at some faggots at work trying to undercut my gains with steroid accusations and some tool talking shit today at the gym. Not my fault I make him feel like a pussy.
So I feel like posting my progress because it makes me feel good about myself and I hope it makes some people who have done far less in more time cry and then reevaluate and get the fuck to work.
Here is my starting point, a skinny-fat piece of shit at 190 lbs. This was me about 3-3.5 years ago.
And here I am now…210 lbs. This is all done in 3 - 3 1/2 years tops. Including 2 serious injuries that set me back 6 months EACH. A broken collar bone and serious shoulder injury.

My mistake, I thought those funny little things you put around your words were quotation marks. I also thought OP stood for Original Poster. Maybe you were talking about Optimus Prime? Please be more specific.

OK, OK, you caught me. I didn’t waste my time reading this whiny little thread all the way to Page 13… which, I guess, is how long it takes you to actually make your point. I didn’t even bother reading what it was I wrote two weeks ago before responding to you - hence my mistake. Hey, that’s just how seriously I take a thread like this.
This is what I was responding to originally - for your benefit and the rest of the people talking shit about the Cell. You have not been “reading around the site” if that is what you thought it was. Nor have they. This has been explained in this thread and countless others. I hope it is now crystal for you.
Just out of pure curiosity; what is “average” to you?
Most of the people on this site have been “lifting weights” for YEARS yet barely look like it. I would think that is pretty fucking BELOW average. The average person with average genetics can manage a change in the way they look that shocks people after 3 years of training…yet 99% of the people here haven’t even done that.
This site attracts those comfortable with being mediocre yet delusional enough to make themselves believe this is a good thing by using retarded arbitrary words like “functional” to describe why in 5 years they haven’t even gained 5lbs of lean body mass.
If the people here want to call out the entire T-Cell, they had better be ready to get called out as well.
I highly doubt anyones genetics are that bad. It’s more a case of ignorance in most. Most, do not have dedication enough to keep at their goals, most do not train hard enough. Genetics vary but not to as large an extent as you seem to think. I still believe everyone is capable of gaining at least 1lb of lean mass per week.
