I’m 5’9 177lbs. Compared to my upper body, my lower body is fairly underdeveloped. Would it be wise to make each of my workout days(4) of the week leg day with some work on the compound upper body lifts towards the end of my workout?
This is what I’m doing as well. After an injury (lower body) followed by a couple years of slacking on lower body, my upper body got out of balance with lower. At this point trying to rectify the situation, I’m running 531 for bench-military-deads-but I squat before every workout. This works out to squatting 4 x week as I still have a squat day as well. I loosly base it on Smolov, works out like 70% x 5x6 - 75% x5x5 - 80% 5x4 - 85% 6x3, last one being actual squat day.
I follow this for 3 weeks, than rest legs for a week on the deload. It’s a lot of work, but my pondages, and size seem to be catching up alot quicker than using regular 531 for squats. I don’t end up squatting two days in a row, because I follow a one on, one off protacol, so I can’t say how it work trying to squeeze it all into a 7 day week. Once I got used to it, I love it, and can’t see myself training any other way.
Squat then do regular workout, just seems natural. What I listed above is a little less volume than regular Smolov, I just adjusted the sets to fall into Prilepin’s chart, as it seems more doable for the long haul. 2cents

What does your current workout look like - the days, exercises, sets, and reps?
When you say “fairly underdeveloped”, what does that translate to? Can you toss up a quick pic or some actual measurements? 'Roundabout what’s your bodyfat - not a percentage, but are you pudgy, lean, ripped, somewhere inbetween?
You could do something like that for a while, sure. Tony Gentilcore actually had an article all about it, literally titled “The Squat 4 Times Per Week Experiment.”
But depending on what your current training looks like, you might be able to benefit from just tweaking what you’re currently doing, or doing something like an upper/lower split (training legs by themselves twice a week or so).

x2. I’ve made lots of progress with lagging leg development simply by doubling my frequency each week, while keeping all other muscle groups steady.

Who wants to work out legs? Just wear pants.
Besides… It’ll just make your junk look smaller.

Don’t know why I have to train legs, I already have two of them
High reps all day errday.
Get under a barbell and kiss the ground with your cornhole. Then stand up.
Repeat a lot of times.
