I’ll buck the trend, I’m down in weight (whilst trying to gain), I’ve lost weight and yet am actually fatter, and I managed to injury my back and probably get a bit weaker over January.
In the flip side I’ve ordered 531 forever and have things that I want to do, and deadlines, so there’s a motivation/pressure there’s. Also today I figured out that I’m actually professionally qualified to take amorphous piles of aspirations and turn them into a reality, so I need to treat myself as I’d treat my professional projects!
We have a place around my city that has been doing a certain egg roll for one week every month. It’s gone birria eggrolls, biscoff cookie butter egg rolls with ice cream, peach cobbler egg rolls with ice cream, and now the king cake ones.
I’ve been thinking the same. I’m not a heavy drinker, but I like beer and scotch. Usually one drink per day. I don’t consider it a problem, but if I don’t have that one drink, I will drive to the store to get it. I think its more a routine thing but maybe not. I’ve been thinking about it a lot and this Lent I’m going to cut out alcohol. Ash Wednesday is the 18th. I think it’s just a personal challenge at this point, but in Catholic spirit I’ll supplement the one drink per night with some bible reading.
Things are going well here. I worked abs on Friday, and when I was hiking on Saturday noticed that I was really feeling my abs, but not in a DOMS way, more like I could feel that they’d been worked and while I was walking could feel them. The same thing happened after working legs yesterday. It’s like I’m one of those anatomy of the muscle system pictures in motion, feeling the muscles as they work.
I’m down about 11lbs and back to my October low weight. It’s probably a true 6-7lbs , due to holiday bloat. Regardless, it’s funny how that last 2lbs is the difference between a lot of arm and leg vascularity and none. Still hammering, diet is getting a bit more strict.
Was away in Manchester with work for two days this week, used the hotel gym but it was pretty shitty. I did my main lifts at my gym Monday morning though before i travelled.
Being away was hard to stay on track, i only had shakes for breakfast and lunch on Monday but for evening dinner at the hotel the menu didn’t have calories on it and the hotel offered poor choices (fish and chips, burger, lasagne).
I went for fish and chips, scraped the batter off one side of the fish and then left half my chips. I was hungry but i assumed it was the best option as was a massive bit of fish (so good amount of protein) and had some veg with it.
There were tons of pasta dishes as well but they all looked very carb heavy with minimal protein. I hate eating out with choices like that.
