I’ve got a terrible problem of clicking every possible option on my computer. It started when I was 12, and my parents got our first desktop. Yesterday, I noticed the little keyboard below categories and gave it a click.
Weight loss is funny, as is the scale as we all know. Started at 196 then saw 192 then it bumped back up to 195 at which point the brain starts playing games with you “wait what the hell did you eat?! Did i completely blow all my progress for the last 2 weeks!?”
Then the next day its back to 192 and all is right with the world again
As always im reminded of Dave Tates egg analogy… theres things happening on the inside even if the outside doesnt show it immediately. AKA the scale aint moving but that doesnt mean things are moving in the right direction in this context
This was me yesterday. I ate no food until dinner. Then ate a large dinner. Woke up this morning heavier. Simply due to food in my stomach and retaining a bit of water from salt and rice.
I usually get to a point where I want to skip dinner and sauna before bed, so the morning weigh in looks better.
For real, I remember doing those “pulse fasts” back in the day and you could drop like 2-4lbs in day if you really wanted stuff to look good on paper haha
Though I’m not actually entered in, I’m doing a write up of my “Red Meat and Black Coffee” approach that has resulted in me dropping 7.7kg in 23 days.
One of the protips is to take your initial weigh in the day after traveling and your post weigh in after a 90 minute ruck. But those kinds of shenanigans are actually quite in the spirit of the challenge!
I’m 2/3 of the way through the first anchor cycle in my run of God Sven is a Beast, and though the weights have been creeping up to put me PR range again, I’m finding my desire for “high” rep sets to be lacking: Anything over 5 is sounding distasteful.
So when that happens, I know it’s time to attack the (mental) weaknesses: I’m eyeing up a run of BBB or something similar after the second anchor and a 7WP Deload or TM Test to increase volume again.
Other than that, I’m leaning out a bit—or at least not getting fatter—so I’m happy with how things are going.
My husband has an amazing beard. I would be devastated if he shaved it. And @freshyfresh has a fantastic beard. Possibly the best that I’ve seen on this thread. Definitely top two.
I’m running another murph in the morning, then starting a several-week block of actually improving my snatch technique instead of repeating the same effort and expecting a different result.
Diet isn’t perfect- tons of carbs in the evenings- but I’m OK and my overall intake is pretty healthy (except for a lack of vegetables).
Weight is about the same, physique is about the same. I don’t have hard numbers on any of this right now but the way I’ve been feeling during my workouts I think my deadlift has gone up a bit, and maybe my pull up and squat has improved slightly.
It’s a good start and I’m happy for any progress I make but I know I can get a bit more results out of what I’m doing. Switching to graveyard shift for the last two weeks has been horrible on my recovery and that’s been frustrating. I will say though, getting a pair of squat ramps and actually taking some intentional time to focus on form with manageable weights and figuring out technique and hitting depth has been humbling and it’s taken off some weight on my sets but the long term is going to be so much better for it so I’m happy. Decent start but I’m looking to get a bit more out of the next quarter of the challenge.
I’m 5.4kg down and 2.5 inches off my waist, feeling really happy with the progress. I’m the lightest i’ve been for (maybe 10 years) now at 99.6kg first thing this morning.
My only worry is that feels very light for me being 6’3 and used to being 105kg.
I’m also playing rugby tomorrow so i’ll need to fully carb load from lunch today which will play havoc with my weight until next Monday. I’ve also not drank in January which has helped. I’ve not missed drinking but i’ve got quite a few social days out for my 40th in February so will have some drinking sessions then that i’ll need to manage.
It’s been about 3 years since I’ve been as consistent as I have the past month and a half.
I’ve hit the weights 3x a week on the same days (tues-thurs-sun) since mid/late december. Weights are going up, I’m feeling stronger and food intake has been on point. I’m feeling hungry almost constantly and my weight has been staying the same.
I’m doing the things I need to do for recovery. Diet is very high in protein, 5x a week sauna… And I am trying to retrain my body for sleep. I hit a PR of 7.5 hours the other weekend, which I haven’t even come close to touching in at least 3 years.
Haven’t been posting much but I’ve been trying to keep up with everyone’s log during my downtime. Keep chugging along all!
