Way to get after it dude!
Don’t do that man: own it all. The world will do a fine job tearing down your accomplishments: celebrate them to the fullest.

Hey I appreciate it. It’s all tongue in cheek. I won a medal, not sure how many people I beat out to get it, but I did win one.
I met a lot of cool people as well. My wife sat next to the wife of a guy who was very inspirational. We talked a good bit and I learned he was 67 years old and was built to deadlift. His words. He went on to set a state record of 600 pound deadlift only to break it 10 minutes later with a 625 pound pull.
Saw a 15 year old kid who was taller than me and outweighed me by a good bit. Even at his young age he had over 25 state records.
So, it’s easy to stay humble among such a diverse group of people.
Thanks for the kind words though. ![]()

Awesome! Sounds like a great event all around. Congrats.
Because we surround ourselves with people like this either online or in these events it’s easy to lose sight of the fact that this represents essentially the top end of strength globally.
These people are far beyond the physical norms of probably 98% of society (be it from genetics or just simply effort and consistency that no one else can be bothered to do) so you’re winning, in that field, don’t lose sight of that.
Great work dude!
This is true. I had a guy, an old power lifter who coaches at my gym, say essentially the same thing about misconceptions of strength that I might have about people because of the company I keep. He said social media will have you thinking everyone is out there pulling 700 pound deadlifts when in reality there are very few. Which was true for this meet, one guy pulled 700.
Thanks again. ![]()
Yea, online skews everyone’s perception. I watched a local strongman comp about 10 years ago, where 1 guy pulled 800lbs (think everyone else had tapped out around 550/600lbs). I was super impressed and relayed this, to a guy who was fairly into powerlifting but still fairly green, he was completely non-plussed, like it was just nothing (I don’t think to this day he’s pulled 4 plates yet and he’s still lifting).
Just about 10 weeks left, everyone - you could conceivably lose 10% of your bodyweight in (essentially) fat between now and picture day. How awesome will you look for summer with ~15-20 lbs less fluff??
How’s everyone doing? What are the plans from here? Some of you are even looking to gain!
Really tightening up. Actually looking bigger, I think with more definition popping
Though I’m not participating this year, I DID just start my take on Vince Gironda’s “Maximum Definition Diet” today, with eyes on being ripped for a cruise starting the first week of June…so I’m here in spirit with ya’ll!
Is this the steak and eggs plan? Very on-brand!
It suits me well indeed. “Steak and eggs” is how it’s been known, but I actually picked up a copy of Vince’s “Building the Wild Physique” and he simply says “Meat and eggs” which opens it up a bit more for me…but he also recommends a truckload of supplements that I’m just not going to take on, but between beef liver and some awesome BioTest supplements I feel like I’m hitting the marks I need.
I’m googling for the book now too. The carnivore experiment was a great one before, so I’m interested in reading this.
Always great ideas in here! What else are you awesome folks doing?
Very much forgot this was a thing, so this was a great 30mins reading through all the wins so far in this thread. Looking forward to the end results
Lol I’m up to 84kg
Unintentionally a bit fluffier but just happy to be getting to the gym when I can, running and riding to work and walking the dog/pram in the weight vest
Well it’s about time!
I guess I’m transforming ![]()
