I’m going to begin John Meadows’ Gamma Bomb tomorrow! Extremely hyped as this seems to be among, if not the favorite program to many! I’m feeling fueled up right now, I just had a Dairy Queen Blizzard and some potato chips before bed. Tomorrow’s pump will be legendary.

I hate how I am right now.

I couldn’t complete my deadlift reps and my squat still hasn’t recovered from summer.

I’m also able to handle less work :sob::sob::sob::sob::sob:

Sounds like your current approach isn’t working for you.

Really good point. I think we all have a tendency to stubbornly ignore what our body is telling us. It’s usually @FlatsFarmer in my log saying something like “this seems to happen every few months…” for me to say “oh yeah!”

My session today was the first time maybe EVER I didn’t lift a weight, felt weird, felt dirty! But it was required = mobility and super low intensity walking. Maybe something you can substitute in.

First weekend since our last entrants joined coming up, folks. Apparently, in the US, it’s a 3-dayer. Anyone got plans either to enjoy it or to navigate it and stay on-track?

Regardless, I have 0 plans except to figure out how to cram a prerequisite stats course. good to know to have an extra day :joy:

I appreciate the tag @TrainForPain , I’ve just got too much going on in my life right now. I’m an all-or-nothing guy that’s focusing on building balance. I am actually back in the gym now after a few months off but it’s a bit sporadic as I am also helping care for my Dad in the mornings (fuck dementia, fuck parkinsons).

I actually might end up making an amazing transformation due to muscle memory :sunglasses::, but my focus right now is building a better relationship with health and fitness. How down I felt after a few injuries made me really question myself and my goals. I’ll be back smashing it soon in different ways. I am glad to be back.

I’m really sorry to hear about your dad, but I’m glad you’re there to care for him and that you’re taking care of your life.

Keep us posted on how you navigate the mindset and the injuries! I think it’s good for all of us to see. I was seriously just talking to my wife about this last night after getting a little cranky I couldn’t keep up with what I was trying to do… and she said something along the lines of “you weren’t even supposed to be able to ever run again; let’s be pretty happy with what we’re doing.” It’s a great point and, like you just pointed out, this is supposed to enhance our lives (not detract). Goal for the weekend is not freeze to death with temps reportedly as low as -45 Saturday night. And I’m going to somehow get a workout in today with working from home, parenting my three kids all 6 and under and the temp being subzero as we speak. Makes garage gym training fun.
