No… but you can swim there. Unlike you, we’re aquatic ![]()
@anon6371718 but… reading?
San Diego to Norfolk is def a cross country drive!
Listen - I will never back down on this.
Go Army
@antiquity ive had these Metcons for years and wear them a lot. Love them. Wore them at the gym this morning and then to the office. What do you look for in an olympic lifting shoe?
Olympic lifting shoes have a super rigid sole and ~.7" drop. For those I got the Nike Romaleos, since others recommended them to me. I have no firsthand experience, though, and honestly I’m not good enough at the lifts to properly evaluate them. I’ve heard (and we’ll see) that they do help with improvement on the lift be helping you get in position.

The hell we can’t! ![]()
Exactly. It’s an amphibious PCS. Harder, not smarter!
You didn’t happen to go to a little school on the Hudson did you? Beat Army!
You nailed it
My condolences.
(Though in fairness you all did come away the victors this year.) I’ll refrain from hijacking the rest of the thread hah.

To bring it slightly back onto fitness: I am considering testing my will power by bringing some Huel and having that for lunch vs the fast food we will almost undoubtedly stop for on the driving days. He has some guns he left at his parent’s house on the West Coast that we have to pick up, hence the driving vs flying part. Though whether I can stick to that while my husband is eating food that I know is terrible but smells delicious right next to me in the car is going to be the real test.
I’ve made 2 family trips to Tx Roadhouse and watched my family devour rolls and butter. I would normally be leading the charge but these two times, nary a bite.
(You may not be familiar with tx Roadhouse. Thats too bad)
That’s for the best, because you look like a goddamn comic book hero.
Oh I am familiar. And that, good sir, is a truly impressive feat of discipline.
Similar, but bought a weight belt, and hit some PR’s on squat and deadlifts.
Maybe a kg or two down on BW.
Portion control and after dinner snackage - the biggest challenges for me. All conquerable though.
@TrainForPain I think that I might join you on the Velocity Diet. This will make my life much easier while I travel because it’s essentially already made for me.
I will keep eating as I have been for the last 2 weeks and when my diet kit comes in I will join you for the month.
“High speed/low drag”. I’ve been enjoying it for that very purpose.
Amazing progress.
You are crushing it.
I went into the gym this afternoon ready for a good new workout that I adapted, and my god… there were people standing around waiting for machines, it was so busy.
With this new gym, when i am not travelling, I think I have to work out around 8pm, straight after work at 5 is too busy.
also, I put on another 2lbs, weighed in at 210 today, which doesn’t feel right, but it’s the same scale I started with.
