Tbh it’s almost a British right of passage to go from clubbing and having a Kebab with vodka to staying in and enjoying Cheese, crackers and wine.

Ok, everyone - where are we in our plans? We’ve got 12 weeks to go - pretty much the standard training/ diet plan timeline. If you’re not where you want to be, great time to pick it up. If it’s time to shift focus, because you already got big or lean, now is the time!

I, personally, need to get more disciplined on my portions. The velocity diet is my kickstart plan for this. I’ll kick off this weekend and report back. If anyone is interested in seeing how that goes, that would still be plenty of time to learn from my mistakes and get a full run in before this little challenge closes.

I’ve seen some awesome advice to date, and I don’t want to accidentally leave folks out again, but I might call out some names below just to get us rolling!

@cdep89 has successfully nailed a deficit week in and week out and managed near linear weight loss.
@ChongLordUno is down to his birth weight while finding a sustainable training program.
@RCKeeper is rocking food prep and working around back injuries to stay in the game.

What do we all need help with? Not playing the game, but always here to help us, @T3hPwnisher throws practical training/ eating “nuggets” for the real world at us and @QuadQueen has been helping us dial in personal nutrition plans.

Doing “great” :joy:

Im overdue for a progress picture, so I’ll make sure to get a good pump going and some baby oil so it looks better.

Think I am on track. Dropped about 7-8 lbs while maintaining most size. Should be able get down to around 270 and decently lean by Memorial day.

Can sometimes see the outline of the top 4 abs in the morning if I am dehydrated and flex (haven’t really had that before).

Finished my “growing phase” at 235 lb last week. I am noticeably larger. I’ve specifically had people commenting on my neck size recently. I’ve done no direct neck work, so hopefully that’s a sign that my traps grew? (It probably just means I had a really scrawny neck to begin with…) Anyway, today starts the process of trimming the waist circumference back down. I’ll probably need to get to 215-ish?

We’re in the same boat… which is obviously in danger of capsizing

You’ve got time to do it! That’s not a brutal distance from here, but definitely enough that you can’t have too many setbacks.

It shouldn’t be a problem for me. My biggest hurdle is always my drinking, and the cessation thereof.

Ha as we say in Glasgow, “Gies peace you”

I’m back on the cut and trying to drop 7lbs. I think 140lbs is the limit. Hopefully the maintenance week will kickstart the fat loss

Feeling good!

My abs have reappeared, so very pleased with that, and scale got about as low as I feel I need it to be (saw 143 one day) so focusing now on fiddling with intake to see if I can find the sweet spot for my body.

Will see how my back holds up when I get to a heavier lifting phase next week, but so far it seems to be improving. Just need to be smart and avoid angering it.

Most importantly for me - I feel like I’m in a fitness rhythm again. I feel that itch to get in the gym, close to becoming a habit, vice it feeling like a chore. It’s been two years since I’ve felt that.

Planning to take my PFT (physical fitness test) mid-April (pull ups, plank, 3-mi run). Planks are new and takes more effort than the old crunches, but the run is always the gut check for me. Would much prefer to just lift and maybe row for cardio, but preference isn’t something that factors in this case.

Then we will be moving from Japan to VA in May, so it’ll be interesting finishing out the challenge with a pretty significant time zone change and long days of driving a cross-country road trip interspersed with visiting family along the way.

I guess Google Translate doesn’t extend to Glaswegian

Perfect!

Oof, you Marines… you can’t drive from Japan to VA, ok?

I am feeling really well. This doesn’t translate in big aesthetic achievements though LOL.

I am 2 kg more than summer probably at the same level or better of leaness (66 kg), a couple of kg less than when I started the challenge. Much more conditioning than planned, and at the moment I am trying to solve some issue with my running form (I am a horrible runner but it’s nice to do something outdoor) to avoid injuries.

I am doing just fine in the gym, consistent with a 3 day routine 5/3/1, loosely inspired by full body 1000%. Some slow progress.

Life will get busier in the next 4/6 weeks so who knows.

Updates…

I weigh about the same.
I look about the same.
My lifts are about the same.
But I bought cool new training shoes and my first pair of lifters shoes. So, the progress is there.

I’m just super happy to be able to (hopefully) help everyone who has reached out to me. If there’s anything I can do or info I can provide to help - just holler, that’s what I’m here for!!
