(Un)Official 2023 T-ransformation Challenge

Thanks! I tried and came close many times the past few weeks.
Losing weight has weakened most lifts but gave me a bit of an advantage here i think!

In this bulking phase, my pants are getting tighter at a faster rate than my shirts are getting tighter. Mostly in the thighs.

I’m throwing this up here in case anyone wants to give this workout a bash

Might help lose those pounds in your pursuit of transformation

I’m obviously a hard pass on getting on the floor and back up, but the title alone drew me in - I’ll be watching!

@jshaving you are correct! I’ve been absent for quite a while. I do miss the crew on here! Here’s the quick overview of where I’m at since I was last way more active on here:

-Had a baby! Our first kiddo about a year and a half ago. Life is absolutely incredible being married to your best friend and bringing a child into the mix.

-Running 3 businesses - music, real estate, coaching/speaking on mindset and sales. I do coaching for all industries, with clients ranging from some of the top performing arts ensembles in the world, mortgage companies, marketing and more.

-Got my first book coming out in Q2, and scaling my businesses with online courses and products.

Life has taken some crazy turns, we’re living in the Austin, TX area and absolutely loving it. Owning multiple businesses is a rollercoaster for sure and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I still live the bodybuilding lifestyle, train 5 days a week, eat clean, have put on a good amount of lean mass having not competed since 2017. Here are a couple of recent gym pics.

Rob! Great to see you posting again. I lost your number. Was going to reach out because I moved to DFW mid-last year. Glad to hear business is going well.

It feels…odd not training for the sole purpose of competition anymore. The last month has kinda been me fighting off the inner thoughts of, “If you aren’t competing what’s the point?”, “You’re not strong enough”, “Why not just go back to powerlifting?”, “Why’s your Wilks score always off?”, “You’re shit at deadlifting”.

I think I’ve come to the point where I fess up and tell myself why I stay the exact same every time I join these challenges. And that’s mostly because I end up clutching whatever numbers I’ve been chasing for fear of them going down.

I’m a bit disappointed that I placed that much of my self worth into that. And it’s rather difficult having to unlearn, and steadily ignore it.

I think I need to start thinking a little bigger. That’s awesome dude.

ROB! Nice to see you pop in and provide the update. I’m glad things are going well for you

You’re looking huge!

Late to the game here, but something else you could consider regarding the carbs - maybe shift some of them directly post workout - you’re chugging a shake then, which is great - but some carbs to refill the muscle glycogen tank is going to help promote recovery too! @Andrewgen_Receptors, @TrainForPain and @T3hPwnisher hit everything else right on. Eat enough to recover from your training OR adjust your training to fit how you want to eat and, for the love of all things heavy, HYDRATE!!! Shoot for at least 1/2 your body weight in ounces every day.

I feel like I am exactly the same with weight gain. Any time I see anything resembling love handles or stomach bulge I run into cutting.

It’s hard when you know you are in your own way but still can’t get over the mental barrier.

I adopt the name Lieutenant Love Handles during the bulk which seems to help.

I’ve discovered chicken thighs. Huge step up from breasts… so I’m learning about myself in this challenge; that’s not the man I thought I was.

Those little red & purple potatoes are like bite sized happiness.

Don’t know if your macros allow it or if you have access to a smoker, but smoked bone in and skin on chicken thighs are one of the most amazing things to meal prep

Thanks for that, good sir. I do have a smoker and my half hog should be coming back from the butcher this week… times are getting exciting.

Thank you, brother! Yes, think big man, don’t be afraid to do it. Thinking huge is how you accomplish huge things. With the right education, massive action, relentless, consistency, and enough time, anything is possible. I’m always down to help you do it, lots of great info on my YouTube at RobStein dot tv, and you can send me a DM anytime.

I’m looking ahead a few weeks.

Does anyone have any experience with Thibs’ newer circuit programs, either Eternal Warrior or one based on his more recent articles?
