Good thinking. I don’t think I can handle 200 lbs yet but want to get a bag with decent capacity.
You can always underfill it, or fill it with less dense material like pea gravel or rubber mulch.
Thanks all,
Ordered the handle-less bag and the mount bar for my gymnast rings.
Can’t wait for the punishments these things will dish out.
Is it harder if it’s underfilled and squishy?
I actually find that easier, because you can actually “dig in” to the squish for a grip. When it’s solid and packed, it’s hard to get a leverage point.
Makes sense - thanks
I would deff go with the 200lb bag. It may feel heavy to start with but it’s a great way to get you stronger and really work the conditioning hard. Lots of training options with that type of bag and you can very the training to give you some progression.
224 this morning before my first meal. Bringing my wife out to dinner tonight for her birthday tonight, so I’ll be sure to post up some pics.
Feeling strong as hell, and I’m about to finish up the final week of deepwater beginners. Moving on to a short diet break, and then the goal is 6-8 weeks of gaining and moving up to 230lbs before dialing everything back.
End of January check in
About 21 days straight without a rest day. Some days were weights + BJJ.
Lower volume (apart from runs) and higher frequency.
Protein focus

End of Jan update here:
Todays food intake has been odd to say the least:
Breakfast
6 egg whites and 1 egg scrambled
Lunch
2 pints of Guinness
Dinner
Roast chicken dinner
Supper
Chocolate eclair
Not sure where I am in calorie deficit or surplus today, just give up.
Back on it tomorrow.
It’s mostly protein …probably still okay.
New Update
Finally movded out in full after the last week or 2, this week I had to take as a deload week because of the move.
Will be back at it tomorrow, managed to eat like crap for the week and put on a few pounds, so kind of starting at 210lbs.,
I feel like the 4 weeks I put in of the first block of training was a good start, now it’s time to get back onto the horse
Looking to do more updates regularly now.
January update
Have dropped 14lbs since the beginning of the transformation challenge
Finally settled on doing the BDWPFN program by @Christian_Thibaudeau . It suits my lifestyle right now as o can only train weights for 45 mins max. I’m actually drilling through the workouts in 25 mins.
My physical workload is high as I’m pumping out burpee routines on my YT channel
Settled into a nice groove eating wise
As soon as protein targets are hit I’m done
Probably on around 1900-2100 a day
Impressive!
Wow, that’s some great work!!! Putting me to shame.
You look like Gimli got out through the shredder mate.
Awesome work ![]()
