UN Gun Debate

So… knives, brass knuckles, bricks, violin strings (read Ludlum novels bitches), car (vehicular manslaughter), knives, broken bottles, pepper spray, tazers, knives, saws, chainsaws, oh and did I mention KNIVES, are all apparently banned. Who knew?

If Jason Bourne is anything to go by, I don’t thing there is much that we should be allowed to use without a license.[/quote]

Don’t forget to outlaw box cutters, airliners, rental trucks, fertilizer and fuel oil.

Is anyone else tempted just to go get a gun right now and kill a dozen people to prove a point that you shouldn’t be able to get guns so easily?

Oh Wait! I can’t do that. Lucky for those dozen people I might add because I’m crazy enough!

like it wouldn’t be easy as hell to kill 12 people with a knife before the police get you?

Don’t relate yourself to Crocodile Dundee again. At least the man knew how to use a knife.

It would not be as easy. Don’t be silly.

And it is unlawful to carry a knife (without good reason) as well.

Wait, where?

I carry a pocket knife with me about 90% of the time, and I have a friend (a very geeky friend) who carries about 4 knives, two razor knives, and a tazer for shits a giggles <_<. Of course, he also carries around a copy of the 4th amendment

Ha ha, rainjack learnt a new phrase. Ad hominem, did you realise that you had been using such arguments the entire time you’ve been here? If you weren’t such an idiot I would have assumed that you accusing someone of this was an attempt at irony.

Maybe for you tough guy. I think most people would struggle. Haven’t heard of many knife massacres. By the way, I’m disturbed that you can buy knives over here that serve no purpose other than as a weapon.

I’ll accept that if everyone is carrying a gun then a massacre such as this may be stopped earlier. However, can anyone imagine the consequences of this? Guns being at the ready every time someone gets pissed off, depressed or on drugs. Shoot outs in public places. More crazy Texans shooting at people committing property crimes and getting away with murder. More street justice.

Rainjack, I’m not telling you what you (as in the USA) should do(I will tell you you should grow up and shut up). The debate is about whether gun control is preferable and people have to use examples to back up there arguments so the USA will be mentioned. If you don’t like it then call me a pussy and pull out your latin phrase book.

So, getting your ass kicked whining about our 2nd amendment has led you to once again lash out at me?

If you only had the balls to step out and lead a charge instead of coming in after the fact.

pussie fits you about right.

Based on your littel outbursts, I would have to wonder what the fuck you know about growing up, or shutting up.

There is no debate in the USA. We have the 2nd amendment. It has been held up in court, so any discussion should be directed elsewhere.

I’m not the one who started with the pussie talk. Get rid of your hard-on for me and read the fucking thread.

Seriously skippy, you are giving your wonderful country a very bad name. People used to think Australian men were the definition of machismo. Now, when they read your posts people have to wonder when you started wearing tampons.

This pretty much only happens in your parallel universe. Texans carry guns all the time. So do Arizonans and New Mexicans. No one ever hears of any of the things you’re talking about. Even with the gun massacres that have happened, they are still rare, and not worth depriving people of the means of defending themselves. They also only tend to happen in “gun free zones” like schools and universities.

None of your opinions matter one iota though. Even if guns were banned, people would still make them or buy them illegally and they would still be in the hands of people who wanted them.

‘skippy’ refers to a caucasian Australian only by the way.

Its spelt ‘pussy’.

We are macho. My argument is macho men don’t require firearms.

Your Bill of Rights is just that - a supreme law for you to rely on to control your government. I put to you that you should rethink those rights.

In Australia we do not have a Bill of Rights. Our Constiution is rather brief and does not even afford me the right in law to vote!

We aren’t used to our ‘Rights’ being infringed on by our government however.

Maybe your government just sucks?

Cheers, mate.

I have no idea what “skippy” refers to down under. And to that end, I don’t really care.

If you are so fucking macho, why are you whining and bitching about our right to bear arms? sounds like a bunch of little tampon toting estro-boys to me.

Nor do I care what someone not a citizen of the US thinks we should or shouldn’t do.

You evidently have no rights to be infringed upon. But who would know? No one really cares about Australia as long as the hotels are up and running, and the food is decent - well as decent as Australian food can be.

Even with its faults, I’ll take what I have over everything else that is out there right now.

But I have to wonder what business it is of yours.

Thankyou for proving that you are the biggest hypocrite on this site rainjack.

You are right PR, people can get hold of guns illegally but why make it easier for them.

It comes down to a balancing act, which approach is likely to lead to the least deaths?

In another thread Texas and Australia were compared. Both have similar populations and if I remember correctly Texas’ homicide rate is about 3 times that of Australia.

Hypocrite? How is that? Do tell. When you are telling your little story, are you going to be playing the part of the pot or the kettle? I do love a good fairy tale. I can only hope it is more original than the goat shit you have been posting lately.

If taking away a constitutional right is the only way to stop a few deaths a year - then I would have to say that those people are just going to have to die.

I don’t care how many people are killed in australia. In fact, I would wager that no one but pussies give a flying fuck what your murder rate is. Why is that even an issue here? You don’t have guns. Good for you. We do. Better for us.

Our Texas Prison system kills prisoners sentenced to death at a rate probably 50 times that of australia. In fact, we like killing so much, we put in an express lane at the prisons. Texas loves killing. You might say it is a hobby for most of us.

Why don’t you come visit? We are running out of shit to shoot at.

Here’s how you are a hypocrite. First you whinge about ad hominem attacks, then you make (amongst others) the following comments:

So, getting your ass kicked whining about our 2nd amendment has led you to once again lash out at me?

If you only had the balls to step out and lead a charge instead of coming in after the fact.

pussie fits you about right.

You’ve also whinged about people being inarticulate but you can’t spell pussy.

Tampon toting estro boy

I did ask you reconsider if your constitutional rights should be rethought. I see you have done this.

There was some rather unfair things in the Oz Constitution about aborigines but we held a referendum and had it removed.

Constitutions need to change over time (very long periods but still they must change).

Actually it’s much higher than 50 times. Aus doesn’t have the death penalty. Interesting thing to be so proud of.

You should work for the Texas tourist board. That’s a great slogan:

Visit texas! We are running out of shit to shoot at!

I could walk into an elementary school, kill the teacher first and then kill or maim almost every kid in the room with a knife, club or bare hands.
