Recently I was given a copy Of “The Ultimate Guide To Massive Arms” by Julianne of TeamStaley. To say thanks I wanted to write a “review” of it. I figure the easiest way is to use the T-Jack form, when something works why fix it?
Pros:
This is a really great book! It is very well written with Coach Staley’s usual sense of humor. It is full of information on how to develop your arms (obviously). One thing I like was that it uses illustrations instead of photographs. I like looking at a drawing better, usually photos are too “busy” and not necessarily clear.
Cons:
It is hard to find fault with this. If you have read any of Coach Staley’s past articles you will know what I mean. It is a software download, although available as a hard copy also. I had mine printed out at the local Kinko’s for $15. I am not much on softcopy versions. For some the drawings may not be a plus.
How was the physical quality of the book? (cover, photos, etc.).
It was a softcopy, although put together very well.
What was the most interesting thing you learned?
How to set a positive basis for a program and to think more about a recovery strategy.
Would you recommend that T-Nation readers pick up a copy?
That’s a definite Yes!
Overall rating: ****
Comments:
For me this was a very interesting book. It is broken into three sections.
Part One: Getting Into The Game (preliminaries):
This is the basics and what to do/not do.
Part Two: The Evolution Of Your Success:
This is the foundation (exercises etc.).
Part Three: The Critical Component To Your Success.
This is about building a recovery strategy.
I wish it had more of a tie-in to legs etc. but that is not the purpose of this book. If you want a book on developing arms and some burning work-outs, this is the book for you. I will update you later on my physical progress as time goes on.
