Ultimate Fighter

Next week’s prediction:

One fight!!!
Fat Hoger will not fight because he won’t be able to make weight!

Forrest by DQ!

It looked like Diego had the guillotine at the end of round 1, but Josh was able to make it until the end of the round. I’m not sure though. I know Diego was going for the guillotine all the time, I guess because Josh had the RNC scouted.

Oh, and after hearing Bobby refer to himself in the third person as “B-Sou”, I want Sam to win that fight. Of course, best case is that Forrest fights, and wins.

Josh really showed in that fight he had no business at all in the UFC. He simply doesn’t have the skills, he looks like he has no training at all outside of wrestling. I’ve never seen such disgraceful fighting; he literally took Diego to the ground and then just laid on him 4 or 5 times.

He’s apparently really good in wrestling, so with some serious training and some even more serious cardiovascular work he could probably be really good, but as of now he would get torn apart in the UFC.

I don’t know about Sam, but if the fight is close, maybe he can STEAL it in the end.

I think the only one w/ a legitimate chance in the UFC is Forrest.

I’m shocked at the utter lack of Jabbing.

guess I was wrong about who would win :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t know, that cut on Forrest could be a big problem. It’s in a spot that is gonna get hit many, many times. Going into a fight, if you know a guy has a problem like that, you attack it. That eye, (his left) is an easy jab for a right handed fighter. I think Diego has a shot, with his submissions and grappling ability.

did anyone else think Josh could have choked out Diego one time? I remember seeing him have Diego turned around but then they stood up right away. I think if Josh woulda worked on his submissions he could have won.

I think if Josh had any ground skills at all, he could have ended the fight two or three times.

/Someone on the “how tough are you” thread told me to keep my head down to avoid getting hit in the face. That advice didn’t work too well for Josh - his face looked like a tomato from all the knees he caught with his face.[/quote]

In muai thai, you are taught NOT to duck punches. You duck, you’re gonna take a knee in the face!

diego won’t fight forrest. forrest is lhwt. diego will beat the tar out of k flo next week imo. i’m excited to watch the lhwt’s. bonnar is my favorite fighter on the show but having not seen swick fight who knows what will happen. same in the other fight. if forrest fights who knows what will happen cuz we haven’t seen anything from hoger. i want to say that forrest will dominate him but sam is there for a reason so we’ll see. same with southworth. should be good fights.

I realize that Diego and Forrest are in different weight classes. To be honest, even though Bobby acts like a didk, he id probably the best fighter there. You can’t tell crap in a two or three round fight. Wouldn’t it be a trip if Sam turned out to be a badass? Doubtful.

The guillotine is a hard submission to sink, but the way Koschek shoots with his head down it leaves him so open to not only that, but also to getting knocked the fk out. If Kenny is a blackbelt, I think Diego will try to stay up and punch or go for a quick take down with a strike or two before standing back up. any bjj blackbelt is really not to be fucked with on the ground.

In Forrest’s last fight I was more impressed with Alex than Forrest, but then I’m a little more partial to a flat out brawler.

In Muay Thai, although they primarily use hand blocks to counter punches, we still duck hooks. However, unlike boxing, our head stays still and does not look down, bending exclusively at the knees. Both fighters could have had better stand-up. Josh’s kicks didn’t seem to do anything to Diego.

Josh had diego in several positions where he had a very large positional advantage. What really bothered me was how often he kept going for control of the leg. He had him in a single leg for almost half of the time, and after a few minutes of doing nothing with it, Diego was getting careless and putting himself in akward positions to try to grab a submission or an escape. If kos was even semi agressive or semi skilled, he could have sunk the gillotine on him at least twice. It really isn’t that hard to sink and once it is locked in, you can just arch your back and the guy is gonna tap. Then there was that time he had diegos ankle well controlled, it didn’t even look like he was attempting to put pressure on it. Man, you got two hands on a jopint like that and the other guy can’t defend it, you twist and bend that damn thing all over the place. If nothing else you force him into changing his position to avoid the pressure. Kos just has absolutely no submission skills whatsoever.

His head looked funny all pruple at the end too.

Sinking a guillotine while standing against a better grappler(NCAA champ at that) while sweaty(and probably a little greasy from Joshes’ fro) while still having to defend bodyslams, punches, and kicks is a lot harder than a guillotine while just rolling and wearing a gi. It obviously isn’t that easy because if it was, Diego would’ve got it since he had about 7 tries at it.

There is an interview with Kenny Florian posted on Wrestling Observer. It’s part 1 of 2.

I dunno about that. His fight with Alex was pretty sloppy. Exciting to watch, but against a competent striker that shit won’t fly. Then again, I think he thought he would win immediately so he was being over-confident, so maybe that match wasn’t very representative. I haven’t seen his other fights so I don’t know.

The other problem is that LHW is the most competitive weight class on the UFC. It’s gonna be real rough for whoever wins that weight class.

yeah you’re right cap’n’salty. I guess a way you can gauge a fighter in the LHW is imagining them fighting against Randy or Chuck.

I really want to see Sam whoop forrest or Bobby though it is probably not likely. But as someone said he is on the show for a reason

Last night Sam proved what we already knew…he’s a heartless pussy!
