Forming opinions and making assertions with little or no evidence however is what made Ken into the great genius we see today and we should not expect this to change any time soon.
LOL!
Well, I’m glad Kalib settled that matter. That’s a bad injury to have, very slow to heal.
I also thought that was f’ed up how Ken just dismissed his injury.
“I’ve seen guys with cracked ribs…he just quit.”
That was bullshit. That was probably the best fight I’ve seen this season; both guys actually looked like they were in shape. Has anyone else noticed that Ken Shamrock’s training\methods suck?
The old adage of “those who cannot do, teach”, applys soemwhat because back in his day, early 90’s he was a badass.
Notice I said back in the day. As in back in the day when Royce was also a badass. The game has changed, Ken hasn’t it seems.
Also “if you can’t teach it to someone, you really don’t know it,” comes to mind a lot with Shamrock. Ken has experience and may actually have a lot of technical things he could teach. He may just simply suck as a teacher. Or it could be he’s not nearly as talented as everyone thinks and its showing.

From what I’ve read it was Frank, not Ken, who did most of teaching and coaching at Lion’s Den. Frank was also the man who built Ken into a complete fighter. Looking at what has happened since Frank left, I’m not surprised. Ken seems like a decent guy, but he’s way out of his element when it comes to coaching young fighters and his massive ego keeps him from acknowledging this problem and bringing in outside help.
What does everyone think about the 10 grand Ken got from the pool game? I was thinking he’d for sure share it with his team in some way, (maybe not all, but some).

I read somewhere that they each got a G from Ken’s winnings. I did think that was a little rigged after seeing how good Ken was at pool. Funny after listening to Tito talk all that smack though.
Another note on the fight, how much better would it be to have Tito in your corner? You can hear him the whole time giving advice, and is always positive between rounds…if I was in there, I would much rather be hearing that.

Tito seems to be an all around good guy. Down to earth and all. It was cool when he admitted he got beat, didn’t say anything bad about Ken, just said, “I think I got had.” or something like that. Plus he seems to honestly want to help his fighters.

I definitely agree. He gives the fighters a pep talk and motivates them to go out and kick ass. I wasn’t seeing that from Ken.
What do you guys think of the fighters left? I can’t stand any of the middle weights. They all seem to be douchey in one way or another. I think whoever wins (Kendall probably), the UFC is getting a bum at Middle Weight.
Out of the heavies, I like both of the brits. I think Bisping is definitely UFC material. Ross has a great attitude and I can almost guarantee that win or lose we’ll see him in a few more fights in the UFC.
The whole Dagger thing was pretty annoying…but I think Kendall is one of the few examples of an Ultimate Fighter contestant who actually progressed over the course of the season. All of the past finalists were pretty much the guys who were favored to be there with the exception of Luke Cummo who displayed a better understanding of MMA than anyone expected.
If you’ve seen any of Kendall’s past fights you’d know that he has progressed a lot(namely that one with Riggs.)
I think Kendall was viewed as a pretty good bet to make the finals. When the season started, I figured there were three legit MW contenders in the house when the season started and had Kendall ranked just a notch below Starnes & Herman.
In addition to Cummo, I don’t think ANYONE saw Rashad Evans & Brad Imes in the HW finals of TUF2 (Jardine & Whitehead were the overwhelming favorites), nor did anyone think Kenny Florian would make the MW finals of TUF1 over Chris Leben. I’ll guarantee you Dana is still PO’d that he had to give the six-figure contract to Rashad ‘Decision’ Evans.

What is it about Kendall that irks people?
I am not seeing it.
He’s white trash (or islander trash, or what-the-hell-ever.) I dont like the way he talks (neither his accent nor his word choice,) I dont like that stupid bandana, I dont like him wearing sunglasses indoors and I dont like the opinions he’s expressed/the way he’s presented himself when he’s been interviewed. And yeah, the dagger crap adds to all that.

I think christian and Tait not wanting to fight was a bad idea. The best is when christian is talking to dana and says “I dont want to get beat up on tv again”
At least he was honest!..he left out the part about being a pot smoking douchbage.

Dana White: “hey Ken, how about we hook you up with a completely one-sided contest where you can totally whup tito, like, say, pool? We’ll shoot ya ten grand for it. But in return you gotta start crap with tito on the last episode. This PPV in July hasnt been hyped enough, we really need to turn our attention to that now that hughes vs gracie is over.”
Does anyone dount that this conversation took place? man, I wish I could find a sports book that would take futures bets like “when the season 3 dvd comes out, the above conversation will be on the extras”
That was a beautiful flying knee. Overeem couldn’t have done it better. Also, that punch he took was BIG. His head snapped real hard, luckily he was kind of falling away from it. So we know Bisping has a solid chin, and the best striking of anyone on the show. He should destroy Josh.
Also, Rory doesn’t have the mental game to be a fighter at all. It was obvious in his first fight when he asked the coach, “Tell me why I should win.” He gave up that choke deliberately.
