Cycobushmaster,
Season 1 comes out on DVD on Nov 1st.
You’d think they would release it prior to Season 2 airing on TV, so viewers could catch up on missed episodes; also, to build up hype for the new season.
Figures though. UFC 52 just came out on DVD last week, yet they’re already hyping UFC55 for next month.[/quote]
wow…good fight tonight. prolly the only good heavyweight fight so far…i thought Seth did a really good job controlling the action, and also not getting injured (except for the 'nad kicks). oh yeah, did anyone else hear in the epidose that Seth beat Bob “the Beast” Sapp before?? crazy shit, there…
strange to see Hughes ditch Jason from his team…i see his point about him being cut, but he’s got guys on his team who haven’t fought yet or proven their ability in the ring.
“Hi, I’m going to throw a head kick to a dude 6’8”. Ow, I got kicked in the nuts."
“Hi, I’m going to throw another head kick to a dude 6’8”. Ow, I got kicked in the nuts again."
“Hi, I’m going to throw another head kick to a dude 6’8”. Oh good, a knockdown."
It paid off, though, I would’ve reconsidered the strategy. Petruzelli was very, very impresive in letting his legs fly through the whole fight. He had his wind the whole fight, it seemed. Probably second best fight so far (But Jardine v. Whitehead would’ve been awesome)

From what I could find online, Seth lost to Sapp in a K-1 (TKO from elbow injury), but he Seth did win a unanimous decision over Dan Severn, if that counts for anything.
The more I see of Hughes, the more of a tool I think he is. Every episode, just a little bit more and more. Great fighter, not so great coach.
Oh, Jason Von Flue seemed a little femme about getting upset that no one stayed awake to chat with him. He balanced it out though, when he flipped off Hughes via the interview.
Hughes only wants to have his best heavyweight and welterweight win the competition. He doesn’t care what happens to the rest of the fighters on his team.
Once I figured that out everything he has done has made perfect sense to me.
Wow do I despise Matt Hughes right now. And now that I think of it, you are dead on Zap. The only people he cares about helping are Joe Stevenson and Matt Whitehead. I mean how could you force someone to fight to prove himself, then when he DOES prove himself by beating the other teams best guy, toss him out like last weeks meatloaf? I mean the guys a little strange but come on. You?re a freaking coach. Win, lose, draw, doesn?t affect you in the least. You are there to help motivate these guys to improve and you?re doing a piss poor job of it. What kind of confidence does it instill in your crew when week after week you tell them to their face they are expendable despite the results they bring in? I am now rooting for every Rich Franklin fighter for the rest of the season.
And I also feel like trying to find a clip of BJ Penn choking Hughes out?
But Seth definately impressed the hell out of me. But i’m sticking with Keith to win it all
Did you notice how when they were in the van and Hughes was doing his whole “I think i’m a better coach” rap half of his team were shaking their heads and rolling their eyes??
Having a fantastic ability in anything does not mean you can effectively teach it to others. Teaching is a VERY unique beast, and those that are very good in their sport AND good teachers are very rare.
Hughes is a great fighter, but he’s a lousy teacher. It seems his only model of teaching is to copy what the stereotypical high school football coach does which is beating the crap out of the trainees during practice, telling them they’re worthless, and then expecting them to suddenly be fantastic come game day.
One thing I forgot to mention…did anybody see Big Dan C.'s abs at the weigh in? Am I nuts, or did it look like a bad lipo job?? I could’ve sworn I noticed scarring, and his ab area was thin, with jiggly (not so much saggy) skin, and no muscle tone.
I laughed a couple times at the nut shotz. That was quite funny.
I really didn’t think it was that good of a fight. The blue team dude just wouldn’t follow up with some of his punches / kicks and the green team dude well he did win but he didn’t move much and had pretty inconsistent foot work.
I wasn’t very impressed with either of those two. I did watch part of the gurgel / jason fight. Now that was a fight. All heart. That is what you need.

Tim Silva looks similar… That kinda thing happens with bigger dudes sometimes.
That fight last night was a waste of my time. I hated it, switched over to Family Guy on Adult Swim after the second round.
Nice fight. I didn’t know Luke had sucha a solid stand-up game. Those knees were coming up high and hard.
I didn’t realize, until Anthony said it in his pre-fight interview, that all the middleweights on Franklin’s team lost their matches. Coincidence? I dunno.
And “Randy Says”. Please. It maybe could’ve been a halfway decent contest, if he wasn’t insane with his combos. First round: 1,2,3,5
Second round:1,2,3,5,niner,4,6,2,sprawl,15,tango,3,4,2.
-I’m all for product placement (people gotta make a buck) but did you catch the product-whoring in the middle of the episode?
“So, Joe, what kind of stuff do you drink , the Xyience, or GNC’s 50 gram whatever.”
“Oh, definitely Xyience, Anthony, it’s just the best stuff.”
“I know, I just can’t get enough of all their products.”
“Me too.”
(or however it went down.) Lame.
P.S. - Ketchup + pulling down a guy’s shorts = gayEEEEEE.
The fight was nice. The other guy, Torres(?) looked like hell. A severe beating. Luke looked like he could have gone another couple of rounds if he had to. Too bad he couldn’t come up with the knockout or stoppage. He should have gone for those kicks earlier, the one he threw right at the end of round three rocked the other guy. Those in the 2nd round would have ended it.
The whole assgrabbing, ketchup thing was way GAY. And the challenge was way stupid.
Be intersting to see if the heavyweight fight next week is another waste or an actual good fight.
They definitely need to come up with some good challenges…Randy Says, Mud Wrestling, The taking off another guy’s socks, climbing around on a big dude…they’re all GAY…Plus the food fight thing on the last episode…add that in with when they pranced around dancing like girls in their tighty whiteys two episodes ago…What the hell is going on here?
I also hate the product placement shit…I’ve gotten enough shots of guys putting on under arm deodorant it makes me sick.
Last night’s fight was damn good though and that Luke guy is crazy scary.
I thought it was a pretty good fight. I was suprised to see Luke escape from the rear naked choke that Torres almost had him in. After he escaped from that, Luke seemed like he knew he was invincible.
I agree with the product placement. Cheesey. I mean - why can’t they just run an add in the bottom right hand corner of the screen? I’m not sold on Xyience just because a couple of MMA guys swear by it.
Oh well. I’m looking forward to the heavies next week.

Shameless Advertisement, true. Nauseating, but fuck it, we’d all be stoked if they were using Biotest stuff, and I’m sure the marketing folks are scrambling to get product placement on some show or another. Maybe the next “Contender?” We were all excited when Biotest was shown for a heartbeat in the movie Dodgeball, so even though Xyeince product placement pisses us off, I think down deep it’s because it’s not Biotest.
My two cents.
Can’t wait for the Heavies next week either.
And the Ketchup-Pool scene was gratuitously gay, I bet even gay dudes who tune in only for the eye candy were thinking “damn, thats’ really gay…”
Luke did a great job…his technique and endurance are incredible. his power is a little lacking, but i think that all those fighters are a little overtrained right now. otherwise…very entertaining fight.
Give it up for Rashad, outlasted another one. Mike was just to damn hard-headed (literally) to be put away. But he just gave up, last round was pathetic.
Seriously, what the fuck happened tonight? Mike was the one I had picked to take it all…I guess you can’t really pick em based on the little training and background they list in their bios. Props to Rashad for winning again…does anyone else think he looks like Cuba Gooding?
