Rashad was toast when Kieth was standing. Keith needs to really work on his ground skills.
I thought it was a great fight - i thought it was even through 2 rounds. But when Rashad took it to the ground for most of the thired - I knew it was his fight to lose. You could even sense Keith realizing that he had lost in the closing seconds of the fight.
I’m still in Jason’s corner. The guy has guts. The welterweight final will be a good one.
I can’t remember the two heavy weights left, but I want the tall one to win, and I hope he demoralizes Rashad. Rashad had better learn how to take a punch if he wants to have much of a career in UFC.
BTW - If the finals are on Saturday night - When do the last two semi bouts air? I didn’t see an air date.
Last two semi-matches are tonight. I believe at the regular time, 10:00PM.
Spike will probably reshow all the episodes Saturday all day like they did last season, so you catch anything you missed. Not too much to speak of I’d like to see again this season though. Except Jason and Jorge, didn’t get to see that one.

I thought Rashad did a pretty good job of taking a punch. In round 2 I thought he was toast. Either Keith couldn’t figure out how to finish him, or Rashad did a damn good job of taking some punishment and winning the fight.
Yes, penultimate show on tonight; usual 10pm time. UF2 Marathon all day Saturday (in case you missed any episodes), leading up to the Finale @ 9pm (3 hr show). Note that this show will also include Diego Sanchez vs Nick Diaz AND Kenny Florian vs Kit Cope
UF Season 1 is released today on DVD (Netflix) if anyone is interested.
DAMN!!! I’m in FLA and have missed the last two weeks due to hurricane wilma (no power yet). All I can due is get updates from the UFC site when I go to work. I’ve been waiting to see someone finally get punched to sleep and I can’t see it when it happens!

So the Finals are set. Joe v. Luke in the welterweights, and Brad v. Rashad in the heavy weights. [/quote]
I think Rashad should be able to win it. There’s no way Brad’s ground game is in the same league, no matter how much it may have improved. And Rashad seems decent-enough standing up. Rashad by KO. (I just realized this will be his fourth fight. They really messed up somewhere along the way. Brad had what, 2 fights to get to the finals?)
Joe v. Luke should be a great fight. I think standing up, it might go to Luke. He seems like he’s got a decent chin and like to throw those knees in the clinch. Joe has to take him down and secure a subission to win. But even then, Luke seems to have a ton of escapes up his sleeve. Everytime you’re sure he’s gotta tap, he gets out. I’ll say, Luke by decision.
I’m pretty sure neither will be a Bonnar-Griffin bloodbath of a final, but…a guy can hope, can’t he??
I’m still just loving the in your face advertising. Haha, I’m waiting for them to throw a stick of Right Guard into the Xyience (sp?) shake. Did anyone happen to notice the episode before last when someone said; “Here, get some of this” and proceeded to hand them a stick of Right Guard like he was passing a crack pipe.
Wait, edit, here’s what they need to do; Next fight the cut man needs to doctor the cut with a stick of Right Guard. It would be an excellent chance for a good camera angle.
Damn, It,'s Monday and no one has commented on the finals.
Joe vs Luke.
Damn good match to watch. Joe dominated the first round, Luke came back strong in the last two rounds, had some very nice escapes and rocked Joe multiple times. If he could have kept it off the ground more, probably could have knocked Joe out. As it was, by the end Joe looked exhausted, Luke looked like he could have gone three more.
Rashad vs Brad
Huge size difference, Brad is just one big dude. Rashad knocked him down multiple times, couldn’t finish him off. Not as exciting as the first fight, and I don’t see either one of these guys being able to dominate in the heavyweight category. But can anyone right now with Orlovsky around.
Diego vs Diaz was a war, all on the ground, great to watch. They’ll have a rematch down the road.
Florien vs Cope
Surprisingly good match. Cope is supposed to be a tremendous striker, but Kenny stayed with him, outfought him and submitted him, twice actually.
Lets hope the guys they pick for season 3 next year make it more interesting than this seasons guys.
I really though Luke won. He had joe completely gassed, but could not keep it off the ground. If that had been a 5 rounder Luke would have won. I think both of them will have pretty good success in UFC.
Brad was rocked two or three times by Rashad, but still managed to do some damage. I don’t think Rashad will amount to much. Brad on the other hand may be very dangerous after another year or so of MMA training. His size is a huge asset.
The Ramirez-Diaz fight was a freaking war. I can’t stand Diego - but he’s a tough sumbitch. Diaz is as slippery on the ground as he is deadly standing up. I’m not a big fan of ground and pound, but Diego sure knows how to use it. I see multiple rematches - especially since those two guys hate each other.
I thought all the fights were great. I’m guessing that Dana White was silently releasing a sigh of relief too since most of this season’s show was fairly lackluster.
I’m not entirely suprised that this season’s talent didn’t come off as talented as last season’s show. I’ve got a feeling that the producers spent a lot more time seeking out the talent for the first show.
Something I do wonder about is if when they’re seeking talent, are they going on fighting talent alone or fighting talent plus personality. Hard to say. Fighters are usually pretty quirky as is so the personality thing probably takes care of itself.
I agree, for the next season they definitely to axe some of those ridiculous challenges and lose the blatant advertising.
i too thought luke won.i also think that he would be way more mareketable than joe.he was the fan favorite and is more interesting.
i think rashad moving down to 205 is a good move. could be dangerous at that weight.my only gripe is that he looks like a leg kick catastrophy waiting to happen.if brad would have kicked his legs rather than the mid and head level kicks he might have taken out an already tired rashad.
i think diego won but it did show some chinks in his armor. nick dominated the stand up and was slick on his back.diego looked more outta place on his feet than nick did on the ground.
diego didn’t react too bad to being hurt/cut but you could tell it was new to him.
kit is a good striker.rogans hype was a lil much.although kenny looked to hold his own,he was getting beat up on the inside.subtle elbows and such.kenny did the right thing taking him down.
