Dude, I swear that Kit Cope was on MTV’s True Life, I’m a kickboxer or something like that. He was a high school cheerleader.
Anyway, yeah, great fights all around. This weekend was also the first time I got to see the Brad-Seth fight. Seth’s right ear is the reason I don’t want to compete in MMA. “I punched it, and a bunch of blood and stuff came flying out.” Wow.
Did anyone else notice that when Cope tapped out of the choke, Florian held it for an extra 2 seconds or so? I don’t know if he was making sure that time, or giving him a little F-you.
For the finals, Joe did a great job of keeping Luke on the defensive. If Luke could’ve spent a bit more time standing, he would’ve had a better chance. Both times Brad got rocked by Rashad, I though he’d be out. I was surprised at how deconditioned and tired Rashad looked. If he dropped to 205, he’d be an interesting match for Stephan Bonnar, who’s got a solid BJJ game and angry stand-up skills.
I liked how, when Rogan was interviewing Diaz after he lost to Diego, Rogan goes “So, do you have some more respect for him now?” “No.” Oh, okay…dick.
I just got into this these past 4-5 weeks again (for the first time since Ken Shamrock was first fighting) and I got hooked.
I didn’t know anything about any of the fighters, so I realy didn’t know who to root for but I ended up realy liking Von Flue, Whitehead, Luke and Rashad.
Sanchez seemed like an anoying dick at first (first time seeing him was the other night’s fight), then Diaz seemed like a big baby about the loss.
With all the shit Diaz was talking, I thought he’d have an easy time with Sanchez. It was a good fight to watch though.
They were all great fights IMO. I think Brad is going to start kicking some serious ass once he gets more experience.

I heard someone say he did some reality tv show where he and another guy went to thailand to train in kickboxing there. Cope stuck with it and they other guy became a dj or something. That might be it.

Jeeze both of those guys took some shots to the head that i think would kill most people. How they managed to keep it together is beyond me. They have heads of granite and aren’t going to be easy ko’s for anyone. I also think Rashad would be better suited to the light heavy area. Brad could be interesting with somemore training… but i don’t know how much his knee will hold him back. I still think that Seth is a better fighter then both of them but that ear was naaaaaaaaaaaaaaasty! I don’t know how Brad didn’t puke when he blew that thing apart.
