After Belfort.
i think sonnen-bisping would be a solid next fight for a couple of reasons - one, bisping and sonnen’s shit talking would be off the charts stupid. and it’s a pretty safe fight for sonnen, giving him an opportunity to build his name and time to train a bit in hopes of building towards a second fight with anderson…wanderlei would be a good choice too, but wanderlei might connect and actually beat sonnen, ruining plans for a 2nd anderson-sonnen fight…plus the whole language barrier thing makes the shit talking not as exciting.
i cant imagine the idiotic shit bisping and sonnen would say to each other.
I don’t think so, Wanderlei can shit talk pretty well for English not being his first language, plus it would be annoying to hear Bisping.

He has 5 wins in a row and just beat Rich Franklin and Matt Lindland, sounds good to me. IMO Sonnen should fight Wanderlei or Leben next. If Paul Harris beats Nate I say give him the next shot.[/quote]
Yeah but that’s like taking Shields and giving him an automatic title shot after one fight in the UFC. That’s just crap. (Even though with Shields, I’d think it would make more sense.)
And I stand by saying Belfort’s showing against Franklin wasn’t very convincing. Seemed like a fluke.
Why did Dana White give Brock Lesnar a title shot after just one mma fight, which was not even a UFC event?
Why?
Everyone give up?
Because it’s all about money. Brock Lesnar is a huge draw, and obviously talented so he got a shot at the title when others seemed more deserving. It will be the same with whomever they put up next against Anderson Silva.
Now think about it, who would people be more willing to pay to see fight Silva?
Think about it, the answer will come to you.

Meh, I know. But I’d be willing to bet most of today’s UFC fans don’t even know who Belfort is.
People forget that Silva got his title shot after just one fight in the UFC.

Wasn’t Hendo 2 or 3 at MW before that fight.
I’m watching the fight again. Did anyone else think Silva was looking smaller than usual? For a guy that claims to walk around at 220lbs he looked like a slightly bigger version of Kendall Grove.

I know they also forget he was once ranked number 1 at WW. And Belfort is a former HW and LHW champion this really isn’t that crazy.
Also reports have come in post fight X rays show a cracked rib on Anderson.

Except Brocks first fight in the UFC wasn’t a title shot, nor was his second. His third was for the UFC Heavyweight title but there was also an Interim UFC Heavyweight Title. So He won the Title of Undisputed Heavyweight Champion in his 4th UFC fight, in what can only be described as the shallowest weight class. There just isn’t a ton of great HW talent. Over half the division could probably cut and make the LHW at 205, and many should. 50+ Lbs is too much to give up against an elite wrestler.
I like Vitor a lot also, I just wouldn’t mind seeing him earn a couple good victories against the top of the MW division before they hand him a title shot.

You might be surprised at how many UFC fans know who Vitor Belfort is. He began his career way back in 1996 as a 19 year old. Granted he fought in Pride from 1999 until recently, but the older fans may remember him. I think Belfort would give Silva all he could handle.
But, that may not be the fight that brings in the most dollars.

I wouldn’t go as far as comparing him to Kendall Grove, but I thought he did look much smaller (and leaner) than usual.
