Vitor hurt his shoulder, Sonnen can’t replace because of a cut.
Fuck…who else is there @ MW??? Akiyama? Belcher? Good grief.
Oh please let marquart fight him!
F%ck that. Bring in Fedor. AS is 220 and Fedor is 240. Sounds like a good deal to me. PPV buys would more than pay for the Fedor fight contract. Funny thing is, this wouldn’t even be a freak show fight! Okay back to reality… F%ck this!

Not this again. FEDOR WILL NOT JOIN UFC ANYTIME SOON!!!
On topic:
Marquardt does not deserve a shot at the champ coming off a loss. IMO Sonnen needs at least 1 more fight under him before he gets a shot. If UFC is smart, they need to put off Silva’s title defense till Belfort heals cause theres no contenders in the division that stands a chance with Silva. I really wanted to see Belfort/Silva. I’ve been pro-Belfort since he stomped Tank. I hope it happens eventually.

I’m sure it’ll happen eventually.
Unfortunately, like you said, there really aren’t any contenders at MW other than Belfort who either aren’t just coming off losses, or are healthy enough to fill in. I’d agree that just postponing the fight until Belfort is healthy, or maybe until Sonnen can fill in (depending on how long it’ll be before Vitor’s back to fighting shape) would probably be the best bet.
Penn vs Edgar is still a title fight (hopefully a relatively entertaining one) and should be able to carry the card on it’s own.
give vandilay(wrong spelling) a shot
Dana says he will still fight on the Abu Dhabi card, maybe a LHW fight?
I hope so. Silva will never fight Machida. Even if he would, that might turn into a really boring fight. A.Silva vs Randy Couture would be an interesting fight. A.Silva vs Rua would be stellar.
EDIT: Machida vs Rua II in scheduled for UFC 113 May 8th this year…sweet

That won’t happen…they just “made up” not too long ago and are talking about training together.

Supposedly,DFW says fight will still be at MW:

I think so,too.
We were wrong: Silva-Maia for 112
Man was just going to post that was he cleared, I know it’s in Abu Dhabu but Sonnen wouldn’t take it?
Well being that Belfort might be out about 8 months I would think Sonnen is next in line and the UFC would probably have Belfort take a fight with another contender once healthy before stepping in with Anderson which would give time for another defense or two or possibly another fight at 205.
Of course all this assuming a Silva victory though I am always intrigued by a fighter with a dominant style like Maia’s BJJ. Pretty difficult with the fresh memory of Marquardt’s KO in 21 seconds of him when srtepping in with Silva.
