UFC 162

Same here man, he was a real warrior and trained like an animal, very strong willed guy y.
Was it his back that was messed? Jon jones is coming to toronto that would be a sick fight to watch I remember the first time seeing him fight I was like hey it’s an american silva that looks strong as hell. Kinda caught me by surprise I had’nt heard of him until the fight before evans.

Yeah he looked outta shape and tired I totally forgot about his medical problems. I like the fact that he was never a bitch about losing, he knew what he had to get better on and did it, very fast way up the ladder, impressive to say the least.
Side note I lost alot of respect for BJ by the way he loses, never seen a champion with so many excuses for losing and not showing up to post fight interviews. Win and loose like a champ.

Silva walks around alot heavier I think that is the only advantage being size. Height as well, when it comes to execution, I think Gsp is a better fighter. He doesn’t let his ego and arrogance cloud his fighting style as silva had in his later fights.

Lesnar had diverticulitis and had to have a foot of his colon removed. He suffered two bouts of it, first in 2009 along with dealing with mono and second in 2011 which was more severe. Honestly, if he would have taken very many shots to the abdomen when it was damaged prior to surgery it could have killed him when a rupture occurred. That’s why Overeem’s kick to the mid section effectively ended that last fight.

The big issue for GSP is that hes never had to wrestle and control a guy Silva’s size for 5 rounds. Not only does strength make a difference but length does too. Longer legs and arms are great tools for avoiding the takedown, especially against the cage.

I have a feeling Silva would continually stall on the ground using the body triangle to force standups, and every time that fight is on the feet its bad for GSP. He’s not gonna KO Silva, especially at a 4" height disadvantage. If Condit kicked GSP in the face, there’s a very good chance Silva would too.

I make no delusions about a Silva/Jones fight, but Silva/GSP is one im confident Silva would be the favorite in, and for good reason.

And GSP would get dominated by Silva I think. GSP would have to wrestle Silva who is pretty much 20-30 lbs heavier than him and that would be very difficult, add on top of that Silva’s laser accurate striking as GSP comes in and you have a recipe for disaster for GSP. Jones-Silva would be a much better fight but I def think it would go to Jones. Jones could do exactly what Sonnen did to Silva only deliver more punishment when the fight got to the ground.

Well in all fairness those kicks and knees to the body from Overeem could potentially end anyone’s night, but im sure Brock was particularly conscious of it.

After the diverticulitis i think Brock’s strength, size and conditioning never returned to where they were prior to the Carwin fight. He lacked confidence, it was evident. His whole demeanor changed. I wasnt a huge Brock fan, but i wanted to see what such an incredible athletic specimen was capable of. Too bad things didnt go his way.

Yeah you are right about those kicks, but you could almost see more fear in Lesnar’s eyes than pain when they landed. I think a lot of people knew right then that he was done. I liked Brock most of the time. Sometimes he seemed a little to “pro-wrestling” for my tastes. But I actually like most fighters until they finally just get on my nerves. The Diaz brothers (more so Nick), BJ, Silva after the Maia fight, and I used to extremely dislike Rashad and Bisping but I have come around on those two. Those are really the only ones I can think of that just annoy the crap out of me.

I just read that Roy Jones Junior wants to box silva and that they have been talking about it for sometime. Wow, I wonder if silva will come back hungrier and demand a rematch since he’s still under contract with the ufc. Or set his sights on boxing a legend. Shall be interesting.

Bones would definitely beat Silva, I think he has to come back hungry to beat average guys he won’t hold a candle to a champ in his prime.

Annoying mma fighters hmm, Sonnen takes number one, Ortiz was a dick, his injuries deterred his career as well, I’m glad he stood up for the increase of fighter’s payout though so good on him for that. Never iked big country either something about being to fucking fat. Machida’s style pisses me off more then anyones.

James toney who can’t be considered an mma fighter was the most embarassing display in an octagon. I’m a Liddel fan, Gsp Silva before taking things to lightly, Griffin grew on me, hughes as well was always good spirited and a great fighter.

Sonnen amuses me more than he annoys me. I am still convinced that all this is a big act he is using to promote himself. I don’t dislike Machida but his fights do kind of bore me. Big Country also kind of amuses me. Def did not like Ortiz. Randy Couture and the spanking incident is still one of my favorite fight moments.

Yeah, Brock looked like he was looking for a way out against Overeem after immediately realizing he was outgunned.

Im in agreement with your list of annoying fighters. Anderson and i have a love-hate relationship LOL.

The other guys i cant stand, ESPECIALLY the Diaz bros. First, ive always found their style pretty boring so im not sure why theyre so popular in the first place, (maybe because they keeps it realz) but their personalities and attitudes are so fucking unbearable.

They are also the absolute WORST sore losers in all of MMA. The excuses these guys come up with after every loss and the petty bullshit Nick pulls to get attention are just embarrassing.

Look up Nate’s interview with BJ Penn.com after Thompson smashed him. Itd be outrageously hilarious if it wasnt so infuriating.

Yeah, Sonnen is kind of like a kid crying for attention; at times its amusing, occasionally its embarrassing, most of the time you just ignore it. I like him as a commentator and TV personality though. Would really like to hear what he thinks of Silva’s loss, especially now since they are kind of cool with eachother.

Hated ortiz in the first half of his career, kinda liked him in the latter half. Always enjoy watching Big Country fight. Im not a particularly big fan of any current HW (i was a huge Overeem fan before he embarrassed himself against Silva) so i always root for big fat Country and his belly-bomb right hand.

Did you read Sonnen’s list of demands for his Shogun fight and contract negotiations?

Jello Biafra replaces Bruce Buffer as ring announcer.

Every fight I?m in must be a No. 1 contender fight or a title fight. If I lose, I get an immediate rematch until I win.

No media can look me in the eye or they will be removed from the room.

Headset legalized through the commission, so I can call my own fights.

No longer will I walk to the ring, I need to be carried.

Keys to your least favorite Ferrari.

I can Skype or FaceTime my fights if I don?t feel like flying.

Tell GSP to quit being such a dick; I?ll return his truck when I?m done with it.

LOL!

Thats pretty damn funny.

Thats the thing about the guy that makes him somewhat tolerable, unlike the Diaz Bros or Bisping - He seems genuinely smart, has a great sense of humor and is outgoing-witty. But he was trying way too fucking hard leading up to the Silva fights, to the point where he was embarrassing himself. When he reigns it in a bit hes pretty tolerable.

Yeah, agreed about his pre-Silva fight behavior. I don’t think he was race baiting as he was accused of though, as he put it in an interview he was “nationality baiting maybe, but Brazilian is not a race”. Bisping is getting more tolerable for me. He is not nearly as bad as he was earlier in his career. It was, however, a pretty dick move to request Belcher take off his ankle tape after he had made it to the ring and had all the signing off done on it.

This is quite interesting

Is that just coming up as a white box? Sorry, it’s a video from youtube. How do I successfully post one?

Yep white box.

All you have to do is post the link to the video in the message body.

Thanks, that is what I did but I’ll try again.

EDIT: I can see it didn’t work again for some reason. I just copied the web address into the body. If you want to search it is called “Las Vegas UFC 162 Anderson Silva Video Blog” and it was uploaded from Anderson Silvas account. It is behind the scenes footage after the loss of his teammates (and Usher?!) encouraging him. Seems to be crying at one point. Very interesting to see.
