On the side note. I hope Silva stops Sonnen, preferably in later rounds after punishing him from head to toe. I just want to see if Sonnen has the capability to be humble after that or does he just run his mouth again like a sore loser. Don’t get me wrong. He is funny and entertaining, but to put down a whole nation for one fight is just stupid allthough everyone knows he is just selling his fight.
Ah, the sore loser emerges. To have his camp to do the dirty work for him. I lost all the respect I had for Chael. He could have redeemed himself by being humble and admitting his loss without all this bullshit. What a shame.
To the people who thought the fight was rigged think again. You don’t fix a fight so that the same person wins the second match where is the money in that? You fix a fight so that the other guy wins and there can be a third fight as that is where the money is.
The fight was obviously NOT fixed. Sonnen lost to a better man that night.
I viewed the spinning elbow from Sonnen as an act of desperation. In the first, he [obviously] took Silva down but wasn’t doing any damage. In the second, Silva defended the takedown down several times and Sonnen knew he had ZERO chance without it so the spinning elbow was his swing for the fences, put it all on the line moment. He missed [badly], but he and his camp knew it was his only shot.
The first fight went down like it did due to a literal slip by Silva, nothing more. I will say that Sonnen irritated Silva to the point that he was so ready to kill him that he was forcing and less accurate than normal, so there’s that. At the end of the day they’re just on two entirely different levels, and middleweight is a joke class for Silva. He’s getting on in years though, and fighting up might not be in his best interest. With that, he’s taken relatively little damage since joining the UFC so he could pull it off.

The reason Silva didn’t get fined for the shoulder-butt at the weighins, as per Keith Kizer, was that Chael talked to him and smoothed it over.
Let’s not jump to conclusions on a guy’s character because of shit you hear in the news.
I agree. Chael isn’t crying about the shoulder-butt or the “dirty” stuff from the fight himself. He’s been a humble guy in accepting he wasn’t the better fighter that night.
Somebody in Chael’s camp isn’t being a “bitch” about the outcome…

To be honest, and I have a bad habit of being honest, I think there was a failure in the camp a little bit with this and I think this is why the outcome was what it was. I think there was a little bit of assumption that Chael would get Anderson down a little too easy than they should have and maybe he should have wrestled more. When I got out there, not much wrestling had been done and when I took over, I put Chael back in wrestling a couple times a week and getting him back to his strength because in my opinion, I’ve seen this over and over and over again.
That’s when an athlete like Chael that has such a strong, specific strength, let’s say wrestling. I’ve seen many wrestlers get good at striking and they start doing well, they maybe win a few fights but the fights tend to be close. They start winning decisions. They start to get comfortable and what happens is they forget what got them there in the first place which is their wrestling.
He can always go back to real estate.
Is that real? I lived in Portland for about 6 months and that’s the real area code [503], so is it possible that that’s Sonnen’s real phone #? That would be crazy.

Yeah its real. I don’t think he’s allowed to sale anymore though. He got caught doing some kind of criminal activity involved with it. It’s in his Wiki page if you’re interested in more accurate details.
Or, you can wait for Super Saylan to post with more details.

Yes, it’s real. Apparently he was stripped of his license though when he pleaded guilty to money laundering in connection with a real estate deal. So yeah, I guess he can’t go back to that after all.

Ah shit. I felt sooo bad for my man Chael. That knee from Anderson was fucking brutal; proving how good, accurate and lethal he can be when throwing all sorts of strikes at different angles. I cringed @ that fucking uninspiring spinning back fist. I bet Sonnen wished he never threw that one. It definitely was the turning point of the fight.
Props to the champ. It was good to see the dominant Silva I’ve known doing what he does best. He’s proved that when uninjured, he’s simply unstoppable. And his ability to dodge punches with his guard down and punishing his opponent with quick and accurate counter punches is simply amazing.
I’d loved the fight going a bit longer, dang it. Seeing Chael talking less shit with his lips on the canvas broke my heart and I cried all night long.
there there now
and how did you soothe those tears

Maybe I’m jumping to conclusions, I’ll admit that. I just thought he would have commented or denied those so called sayings of his team if he wasn’t behind it. Or at least silently accepting them. He should have come forward saying this is BS, if he’s not allowing it to happen. But of course he wants the rematch with the help of his team and fans.
And I think Silva should have been fined for doing something that he wasn’t supposed to do. Where do you draw to line? Would he being fined if there wasn’t smoothing? Next time someone maybe punch a little as long as the opponent smooths it over?
The guy just lost a world title fight he’s been pining after for two years. Two years of constant promotion, shit-talk, comedy, TV spots and training didn’t net him gold. Did net him a good pay day though. Let the poor guy take a vacation, hahah.
I’m not sold on Silva deserving a fine, but I see where you’re coming from.
