Having 3 close fights against the last 3 UFC title holders doesn’t make him a bum. He’s just not the terror he used to be.

I can’t stand Tito. Every time he opens his mouth I cringe. I think he is a complete dbag but I am willing to cut him a bit of slack here.
He is coming off an 18 month layoff that included major surgery on his back. His first fight back was a former champion, still well within the top 10 in the world.
Unless you think he is at his best right now, after 18 months off and major back surgery, he will be a handfull for anyone in the division. I would be shocked if he fights anyone outside the top 10 for the remainder of his stay in the UFC. Regardles of win loss record, I would bet they are all competitive fights.
Saying Tito Ortiz was never a good fighter is like saying Joe Gibbs was never a good football coach. Sure, their time has pretty much passed, but anybody who was a champ in their prime deserves respect.

Tim Sylvia defended against who Monson and Arlovski you can’t even compare that to what Tito did. Sure Lidell had his number and Couture killed him, but losing to those two at the time he did, does not mean he wasn’t very good.

Anyway there is noway to “validate” a point on the past that is why im putting my fucking money where my mouth is and betting on the future. A good fighter doesn’t roll over and die in his early 30’s and if you truly believed tito “was” good then betting on his future shouldn’t be an issue.
And if it somehow IS an issue, then at least admit at the present, tito is completely insignificant.

Ok if i said he was horrible, which i might have, i was exaggerating. My point was he was nowhere near the best in his weight class at that time. What i said about him being a bitch though? Yea he was a fucking bitch because he did not want to fight anybody. He was never “good” at all, mediocre at best.
Also im confused as to some of you think tito’s belt was relevant in him being a good fighter. First of all he was undeserving of the UFC belt he held; there were two people in the UFC ALONE who were just waiting to hand tito his ass. Tito was never even in the same LEAGUE as randy or even chuck.
Now if the UFC was all MMA was at the time i could see somebody making a tito is decent argument but thats just that. THE UFC WASNT EVEN THE TOP OF MMA AT THE TIME. Jesus so many fighters in pride would have made tito look childish as well.
This is why im calling those defending tito, UFC fan boys and unworthy of having an MMA discussion. Tito was “decent” in the UFC and IRRELEVANT in the sport of MMA.
