I enjoy getting a professional massage a few times a year to loosen things up and assist recovery. Recently I moved to a new area and am looking to find a new masseuse, but while searching I found an interesting place. They advertise myofascial release and manual therapy, and offer an hour at the same rate as other massage places for a 1hr session. It says in the FAQ that myofascial release is NOT massage, that they work on structural integration and fascia.
The point is, I’m not sure whether to spend my time/money on a fascia work session. Anybody ever heard of this or experienced it before?

I had myofascial release done last year, it hurt like a bitch. The guy really worked over my lower back, an area where I am injury and trouble free but damn the fascia was tight. Totally was unable to do much training wise for a few days afterwards. My regular ART guy said it’s a good thing to get done, I can’t say it helped but it didn’t hurt nothing either.
I’d like to hear what BBB’s opinion of this treatment is.
I would definitely try it out. ART, Graston, etc. All that stuff is great. If it is only $100 I would definitely give it a shot and see how it makes you feel.
Man, I don’t even want to know how you found that video.[/quote]
Dude, it was purely by accident, I swear. I searched youtube for “massage gone wrong” and I saw this on the side of the screen under “related videos”. I thought it was oddly appropriate for this thread.
