Twice a Day Workout Thread

Hello all

Twice a day workouts are pretty fun. Only thing is worrying about overtraining. I am thinking about doing a split routine in the morning and whole body at night.

what are you doing for your twice a day routine?

Hi Hawkson101,

Currently I’m doing a full body in the morning and another full body at night. And just to clarify I’m using CW’s definition of a full body workout which is an upper body push, and upper body pull, and a lower body exercise. I’m up to 8 workouts per week now and although it was kind of a shock at first, my body is starting to get used to it.

I have tried doing a body part emphasized workout in the morning and a full body at night, and it worked well also.

I think that it really just depends on your goals and how your body responds. Personally, I’ve never found that my body develops unevenly if I use only compound movements. But, if yours does then alternating between compound and isolation exercises (for your lacking bodyparts) might be a good thing to try.

Good training,

I remember reading one time that if you want to train twice a day you have to eat a lot, sleep a lot, and it was also recommended that you work the same type of exercises during the second workout that you did in the first.

But I’m no expert.
Good Luck

by the way, are your goals strength based or physique based?

I have been lifting twice a day latley

I just do what ever I want/what ever isnt sore or tried

I’ve a big advocate of double-split training BUT. I use it as the first part of a hypercompensation program for 2 weeks then start a 2 week lower frequency protocol which allows my body to over-recover in preparation for the next bout. Very easy to overtrain depending on the volume/frequency of your training program but if you know what you’re doing then it’s awesome. I also boost my caloric intake by 1,000-1,200 kcals daily during my double-split weeks and try to get more rest than usual(and I get a lot of rest as it is).
