What else is out there that I can substitute my tuna for? I’m asking this b/c its my 5th meal of the day right now; I have it right before I leave work; and it stinks the place up. I’m not digging it too much right now. But my co workers haven’t liked it at all; ever.
I already eat, eggs, jerky, chicken, shakes, steak…what else IS there???
The only different thing I can think off tht will provide a great amount of protein with very little fat and carbs is ground beef.
Im just looking for something different…diet has become QUITE stagnant.
Since when does tuna stink that bad…I usually prep the tuna the day before. I mix 1 can of tuna with 1-2 tablespoons of low fat mayo and a bunch of hot sauce (Frank’s Hot Sauce is the best). Sprinkle some black pepper and mix it up good. Throw is into some small tupperware and it’s good to go for a sandwich the next day and no way it’ll smell. If anything, it’ll probably smell like hot sauce.
The only sources of protein I really use are chicken, flounder, tilapia and eggs.
What would be best is to just spice up what you already use. With the chicken you can make something knew like chicken cacciatore.
If you want something quick on the go you can get the groundturkey or beef on make meatballs. What I usually do is just spice the ground turkey/beef and boil or fry them they are pretty good.
I experimented with mini-turkey burgers too. Mixed in a little chopped spinach, garlic, s& p, and onion powder with a few tspns of water. Mixed it and made small patties. Gave them a quick fry on both sides in olive oil to brown but not fully cook them. Stick 'em in the fridge. Then I’d pop one in the microwave for a minute as a quick snack.

Turkey is/can be more lean than ground beef, a lot of protein. In fact, when I fry ground turkey, I always have to add a little water because there is no fat.
I feel your pain, having been called a cat on occasion by my family for eating tuna straight from the can. Here’s a couple of things:
Have you tried any of the flavored tunas? I hate lemon one but love the smoked flavored one and the sweet and spicy. They do cost more than the regular variety though.
Not sure what your goals are or carb levels, but I mix the sweet and spicy flavor with brown rice, it’s not too bad.
Or a good one is the smoked flavor, a little bit of black beans or refried beans, on a tortilla. Mash them up and spread on one side of the tortilla, add a bit of cheese, then crisp them up on a frying pan with a shot of Pam spray. Takes 10 mins tops to prep but add some salsa and it’s pretty good.
Also not sure how cheap they are in your area but frozen shrimp at our local store are cheap for some reason. Already cooked and deveined you just run cold water over them and toss them into a salad or with some pasta. I use chili-pepper flavored grape seed oil with some ground pepper, pasta, and shrimp and you really don’t need anything else.
Oh, and I’ve found Bison to be awesome for a different burger flavor. You can also mixed diced mushrooms into 90% fat free ground round and you’d be surprised how much more moist it is.
