Tuf 11

McKray looked very good tonight…his striking kinda sucked compared to Uscolas’, but he dominated him in the clinch.

where did Uscola wrestle at? so far he’s been schooled on the ground…he’s a f-in tool. i take back what i said about Jager.

Agreed. For a guy who supposedly has D1 wrestling credentials, he sure gets taken down a lot.

None of the guys on the show seem outstanding really. The striking has been bad, most of the guys have shitty cardio, and everytime a fight hits the ground I start rolling my eyes at the beginner mistakes (blue belt, 1.5 years training myself, so that’s an accomplishment).

All in all though, many of the fights have been entertaining back and forth battles that kept me guessing, so honestly, I think this is one of the better TUFs put out.

I’m sticking with Yager to win the show. Court McGee is looking pretty legit as well. He has some really long arms.

With all the injuries to guys, it’s surprising they have enough guys to even fight. Not a bad season, I’m glad they are showing more about training and less stuff in the house.

wow…

McKray is this season’s king of lay n pray…i’d bag on him more, but the Aussie should’ve done more. his BJJ had a few glimmers of brillance, but that was it…

and the 2nd fight sucked. Tito’s guy was winning, and made a dumb mistake. that was a wicked soccer kick, and don’t blame Tavares from being unable to continue…

The second fight was a good fight until the stoppage. It was a stupid mistake, but stuff happens. The melee at the end was funny.

Interested to see who’s going off in the ambulance next week…

I find it humorous that Rich Antonitto was continuing to defend the stoppage in his fight. He probably felt like quite the fool after that episode aired.

Someone gets subbed in my guess, Yager prolly.

So Tito and his neck, huh… Big surprise…

Surprised Yager gassed that bad. And also I didn’t expect him to have such a glass jaw either.

So who do you think Ace’s assistant coach will be? A former champ is who it’s supposed to be. My guess is Frank Mir because A) he lives in Vegas and B) the show was taped from January-mid February, and Mir didn’t fight Carwin til late March, so gave him a few days to help the TUF guys.

But I’m just guessing.

yeah, if he was fighting the takedown the whole time then i would have expected it, but nothing really happened. well, other then him getting knocked on his butt a few times and him doing some stupid flying kicks…

i was actually pretty pissed that i was a draw. Josh had a couple takedowns, as well as a knockdown or two…

i was really impressed with Josh…he is by far, the smallest guy there. i do think it’s BS he’s gotta beat McKray again. might as well let him fight somebody he hasn’t fought yet…

Awesome, preciate it drew.

*SPOILER ALERT

wow…Mcgee-Tavares was prolly one of the best fights of the season. i thought Tavares had it, until the end… McGee fought him well, but Tavares is gonna be a hell of a fighter down the road.

McKray-Bryant was another snoozer… persoanlly, i’d like to see it change so that if you beat someone, you don’t fight them again (unless absolutely necessary). however, McKray made some good changes, and controlled the whole fight. i will say that Bryant is really a welterweight, and Mckray was one of the biggest guys there, so i’m not that impressed with him…

glad to see Jager and Uscola acting like d-bags again…i do like when these guys step towards each other to fight, and some other dude holds him back with no effort (the token palm on the chest). both a couple of pussies, who did nothing but embarass themselves on the show…

this season realy surprised me…i thought the prelims were the best of any season, but the rest of the seaosn was not all that impressive. i kinda figured with middleweights, they should all be in decent shape, and we’d still see a decent amount of KO’s…not so much.

Yeah - these guys are not the best crop of fighters to come through TUF. Bryant is a tough guy and has good boxing, but you’re definitely right about him being a welterweight.

It’s hard to imaging any of these guys putting up a fight against any of the established middleweights. In past seasons there have been guys that you could see had legitimate potential to be stars, but not this season. Maybe Tavares and McGee, but that’s a long shot.

This.

Its really been just a ho-hum season, was nice that they focused more on the training instead of the in house antics as someone pointed out. And I think that this years winner will be the first to win the show with a loss, could be wrong about that but think its right. Which just proves more of the mediocrity level of competition this year, no really dominant standout fighter. I guess Nick Ring could be considered the best of the season since he technically didnt get beat (but should have went to a 3rd round against Mcgee), think he was the best of the unintentional comedy thats for sure, the way he talks and gestures and such was hilarious.

I think that Court McGee is probably going to be the best fighter coming out of this season. Brad Tavares could get much better in a couple years with good training since he’s so young. I think that Rich guy might also be pretty good. Josh would be great if he can cut to 170.

finale spoiler

Yager vs Attonito…Yager is friggin out of shape. he was clearly gassed in the beginning of the 2nd. he got TKO’d becasue he was too damn tired to keep going… i suspect that he’s the star of whatever gym he trains at, and he really likes that. Yager is clealry extremly athletic, but needs to go somewhere else to train to learn, and get in shape…

Fisher vs siver…kinda boring, really. i’m surprised nither guy attempted a takedown earlier, due to the stalemate standing up…

Leben vs Simpson was pretty good. i gotta admit, even with a couple takedowns, Leben has pretty solid takedown defense, and clinchwork.

Hamill vs Jardine… Jardine’s leg kicks looked good early, but that’s about it. Hamill outpunhced him, but i’m surprised how little he went for the takedown. i think Hamill clearly won, but he needs to integrate his transitions better…

McGee vs McKray… McKray’s standup had the edge, but McGee was quicker, crisper and implemented his gameplan better…

decent finale IMO…

Yeah I was surprised at Yager gassing. I agree he needs to get to a better gym or train with guys better than him to make himself better. I read he got food poisoning the night before, but didn’t blame that for his performance.

Siver/Fisher pretty standard fare. Didn’t expect fireworks.

Leben/Simpson pretty good fight. Leben still has power in his hands. If he can stay off the bottle and keep his head on straight, he can make a run.

Hamill/Jardine was a pretty good fight. Second/third rounds were pretty good. Same here, surprised how little Hamill tried to take down Jardine. Jardine has lost four straight fights, but I have a feeling Dana will keep him around because he’s somewhat exciting to watch.

I’m glad McGee won. What a great story, great way to turn around his life. His victory speech was touching and pure. Happy for him. It’s hard not to like the guy.

Yager seems like he doesn’t like to push himself when things get hard.
