Trump: 2020 and Beyond

Yeah, but the coalescence of this more radical element has taken place. It had been dispersed in small groups and whatnot previously.

Now there is something to grow. Something for people who are looking for an identity to identify with.

I think this actually makes it more dangerous.

Almost certainly.

My pro-trump group has gone silent. If they post anything, it joke memes, but they are for the most part ignoring what happened.

Two Trump supporters die & go to heaven. God welcomes them & asks if they have any questions.

“Yeah, what were the real results of the election & who was behind the fraud?”

“My child, there was no fraud. Biden won.”

One turns to the other, “This goes higher than we thought.”

The DEEP STATE!

There was a gorgeous woman from St. Petersburg Russia who was totally friendly with me on Facebook and she said God loves Trump and had a lot of memes to prove it.

That’s how I know you’re Lying !

:joy:

And some instaboobs that could bring peace to the middle east!

Most definitely agree with you on this. Coalescing the fringe is the worst possible outcome.

I agree with this. And it sucks, because it goes against the tribe mentality that made it so powerful in the first place (“drain the swamp”, “outsider in govt”, “they’re not listening to you” etc).

And it also sucks because his administration did have some good domestic policies. But at some point either the country matters more than ones favorite “team” (or in this case person) or we are on the long slide down.

Most excellent. Now I never have to hear another toilet tweet again.

This isn’t over. People still love trump. This is from my Oklahoma republican friends. I’ve known these people for 20 years now and didn’t know how they were until Obama was elected. Just a few of them are my friends in the comments.

The comment thread under that article is quite illuminating. The juxtaposition with the essay itself is almost art.

Mine have not gone quiet. They are now saying it wasn’t Trump supporters in the capital, but it was all a set-up by Antifa. They say “look at those people wearing black! That’s Antifa!”
Like the Proud Boys don’t wear black. It’s embarrassing and sad.

History has shown us over and over and over again that religious devotion and unwavering support for a narcissistic demagogue like Trump never ever leads to good outcomes.

Mark my word…this is all far from over.

There are black people who support Trump. People can support who they want but getting back to the idea that the person matters and that character matters, when you see that avowed whites supremacists and antisemites are devoted to Trump, as a Trump supporter of any race, you don’t question the messaging?

I don’t want to believe that the majority of Trump voters are racists and Q anon imbeciles, but when you see that those people are attracted to Trump it doesn’t make you question supporting Trump? Especially when he is targeting those very people with his rhetoric.

We hear people say how they don’t agree with Trump’s behavior and the things he says but they support him because they agree with his policies (which no one has ever clearly explained, but I digress). Is this a case of, I’m ok with a white supremacist getting what he wants from Trump as long as I get what I want? That’s pathetic and sad. Whether you like it or not, if you support Trump, you support his whack pack.

It is depressing (as you said, t’s not like the proud boys wouldn’t wear black themselves or haven’t in the past already). The thing is, and a lot of people won’t choose to understand this… even if antifa were involved in the attack it doesn’t change anything.

First because the president incited it, and has been building it up for months, so he bears responsibility either way. His actions and words directly led up to it.

Second because whoever decided to enter the building still committed a massive crime against our country. It shouldn’t suddenly be “no big deal” if some other people were involved - sensitive information was stolen and I’ve no doubt that agents from other countries were part of the crowd to see what they could get their hands on.

Third because it’s obvious that there were more than enough Trump supporters obviously entering.

I suppose this is cognitive dissonance popping up again :frowning:

Kevin McCarthy sure has a set of hypocritical balls…

Did he actually just have the audacity to say (paraphrasing) that Trump should not be impeached because it would “divide our Country”?

The irony is that Trump’s message to subvert the democratic process, by force, is something that Antifa would agree with. It shows how extremists from both sides stand on common ground and how they don’t really belong to any side. Antifa are not Democrats just as QAnon cultists are not Republicans.

Lindsey Graham was begging Biden to tell Pelosi to stop with impeachment proceedings. So far Biden has chosen to stay out of that.

Pushing Pelosi’s buttons may have been Trump’s biggest mistake. She is one person I would not underestimate. She started out in politics when it was even more of a man’s world so she needed to be better at the game than the men. The idea that his fate rests in the hands of a woman must be unbearable for a Trump. The fact that she’s Italian should have told Trump to tread lightly. Also, she has six siblings, all males, so she knows how to handle men.

There is also no way possible that Pelosi has not endured her share of “now-now, little girl” head patting and sexual harassment over the years.

Well you’re Italian, therefor Mussalini.

There. Simple minded dumbfuckery right back atcha! :joy:

Aaaand no lesson about country before party was learned I see. Censure his ass. Trump isn’t even republican, he’s Trump. He doesn’t give a shit about the party because if he did they’d still have the Senate. Why protect him??

If you’re of the opinion that impeachment might make him a martyr (plausible, but needs to be done regardless) just don’t say anything. You can talk to other congressional reps behind closed doors and say “he needs to go but I’m worried about making him a martyr”.

Whatever you do, don’t protect his ass. You just give every other person a reason to say “the GOP are all just like Trump”.

The fuck is wrong with him?

Absolutely. They poison everything.
