Yes, it’ll be interesting to see who decides not to object. I’m watching Mitch lambast the violent protesters. Trump says they’re special, Mitch says they’re thugs.
update: Sen. James Langkford of Oklahoma says he’s no longer going to object. Don’t know if he’s speaking for others or not although his words indicate he is.

FWIW im not intending to paint trump voters with one brush. I get why someone would vote trump (though i vehemently disagree) and i think thats fine. Lot of good and/or smart folks voted trump.
However i absolutely will paint the folks still supporting trump with a single brush. And that brush is tens of millions wide and stinks to the high heavens.

The businessman President has been abandoned by a large business group that has called for his removal.
National Association of Manufacturers President and CEO Jay Timmons said Trump “incited violence in an attempt to retain power, and any elected leader defending him is violating their oath to the Constitution and rejecting democracy in favor of anarchy… Vice President (Mike) Pence, who was evacuated from the Capitol, should seriously consider working with the Cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment to preserve democracy.”

Too little way too late. He toed the trump line for years, including personally lobbying GA officials to throw out all ballots in certain blue counties (legal or not). He doesn’t get a free pass just because he finally flipped once the fire he added fuel to for years spread to his house.
His legacy is permanently stained.

A lot of really good speeches from BOTH sides of the aisle tonight.
In a very rare episode for me, I have watched every moment since reconvening in order to try to get things straight from the Senate instead of news sources.
Graham cracked me up actually. Sasse I knew was going to be good if he spoke, since he’s indicated his disgust before.
I was surprised at Rand. But good on him (at long last) for taking the right course. Graham’s quip about agreeing with Rand was also funny.

Sasse has voted on policy in alignment with the GOP (which I’d expect) but has been a pretty consistent critic of the presidents behavior as far as I am aware. I admit I don’t follow him closely though.
Awesome. We need more of this and less processed, artificially sweetened sound blurbs from social media.
The stuff people have been consuming in place of actual informationis the news equivalent of hot dogs.
