Man, the range 10-15 years ago in USA was up to 1500 ans something… Ive seen photoed tests on paper but I cannot remember the exact number
What @johann77 has been saying is that the methods used for measuring everything have changed over the years which is why the ranges keep changing.
However, it seems to me that they must have figured their shit out by now and the ranges will remain exactly the same now that they have decided on a method. Yet, I’ll bet my left nut that T levels will continue to fall as the years pass regardless of method of testing.
I also think t levels will continue to fall.
In my country the max now is 800ng/dl but in nmol/l…that is crazy. And when somebody tests he seems good in the range when in fact his levels are terrible
Vonko, you continuously fail to accept or understand that a comparison between measured levels is meaningless unless a standardized assay was used. Morgentaler actually published an article showing that different assays varied by up to 300 ng/dl.
A standardized assay is only available since a couple of years. Re-measurement of samples taken in the 1980s demonstrated that T levels of 97.5% of men were below 1000 ng/dl.
Your statements are based on your gut feeling and not on scientific data.
T levels above 1400 ng/dl are supraphysiological. Whether these levels confer a risk or not is a completely different discussion.
Is there any evidence to suggest that T levels have dropped generationally? (could the whole 19-39 group be low relative to optimal biology?).
Anyway, Poliquin claimed that in the last 100 years, a healthy male T level has dropped by something like 40%. He also claimed that having a cell phone in your pocket can cut your T in half. (regarding bro science).
I am not on TRT but a little over a year ago I felt burned out and tested at 230 with a normal free ratio (a little over 1.5%). I had been overstimulated, drinking caffeine morning and evening and bumping up the doses, 2, 3, 4 cups and didn’t feel like I was getting quality sleep. I cut PM caffeine completely and in 10 weeks my total T was 530 with free at 80 and I felt very good.
Also, I have wondered about raising and lowering the sensitivity of tissues like the brain and muscles to testosterone. I have read that weight training can lower T but raise T sensitivity, and that sex and pornography raise T but LOWER sensitivity. Also read that other factors can lower T sensitivity (masturbation, other) and wonder how much T-sensitivity may be a factor rather than mere T-levels or free T-levels.
Anyway, my T-levels appear to drop when I am overstimulated by caffeine or heavy weight training.
I’m 49 next month.
Thats a very controversially discussed topic. There is some evidence demonstrating that levels declined and others demonstrating no decline.
Personally I beliefe there is/has been a decline ongoing on a population level over generations, but primarily due to increasing rates of obesity and a sedentary lifestyle. I also strongly believe that endocrine disruptors play a role or will be playing a stronger role in the future. The extent of which they contribute is at the moment impossible to quantify.
If I had to speculate than I would say that T levels on average peaked between the 1960s and 1980s. Before this period many people were short on nutrients because of different reasons. With the 1980s the obesity epidemic started to pick up and we as a society became more and more sedentary leading to lowered levels on average.
Anyways, there is good data available that the average T levels of young, lean and healthy men did not decline between 1980s and now. So at least this constant discussion that T levels of 1500 ng/dl were normal 30 years ago is nonsense.
Today they banned me there for basically defending the thesis it is OK to have 80 estradiol and there is no evidence suggesting it is harmful…
Almost got banned there myself a couple months back for stating how awesome my self TRT of 200-250mg\week made me feel. It was in response to someone asking for feedback.
According to them I am “overmedicated”. For them Its not OK to feel awesome (optimised). A lot of people are really bitter when it comes to those who feel fantastic on TRT. I received plenty of unsolicited advice from them to dial back…

Are you actually banned? It’s weird that your name doesn’t say banned, so unless I knew better I would just think you stopped responding… something tells me that is done on purpose.
edit: haha, yeah so when I try to go to your profile it says it isn’t available…
There is a study in which testosterone enanthate used as a contraceptive in men (200mg weekly for 18 months) was well tolerated… avg TT was around 1400ng/dl in that study. Side effects (minor) were present in a minority of the populace given pharmacological intervention
If you refer to the study of Wu et al 1996 I am not sure if it was as tolerated that well.
About 7% of participant discontinued the study.
10% reported increased fatigue, 5% developed gynecomastia during treatment, 5% reported prostate problems, hematocrit increased by an average of 7%, 36 to 51% of Chinese men had elevated liver enzymes during treatment and HDL decreased by an average of 16% in non-Chinese subjects.
Ok, so on thumbsuck average, 1 out of 10 guys dont tolerate TRT well. Yay for the other 9 out of 10!
They told me Im supraphysiological and chasing e2 numbers of a woman, ignoring the fact my dick is hard working 2-4 times a day and the topic of the thread was something with ED inside ![]()
By the way Im not sure whether is from the testicles working or the high levels of test or the high e2 but since I started HCG daily little Vonko is doing a lot of hard work…
Did you get any kind of email saying you were banned or anything? Your username still says “member” over there
I suggest to send @dbossa to visit their forum . He will destroy them with no mercy. ![]()
He’ll get banned in under 5 minutes if he hasn’t already. It’s pointless unfortunately.
They will just ban him in 2 posts…
No email, just when I open the forum says “ You have been banned”
Seems theyve done it to be hidden from the other members
2 posts! Ha! I’d be banned before I even click the post button lol! I already have too many people who hate me just from the silly E2 stuff. No need to make it worse ![]()
