Anyone have hands on experience with it?
I would like a dip station for pectoral work and this seems to be a good value.
Thanks,
Mark.

Um…
well…
I’ll just say that I’ve never used the machine before.
BUT!
You can go to home depot, get some pipe and build a free standing (and portable) pullup bar and dip machine with some ingenuity… get some pvc and you can make your bars wide grip anytime you want… Hell have some space in your backyard, cement those puppies into the ground yo.
I would be ashamed to by it just for the name. Not to mention the dumbass on the front page of the website.
Nova’s right, it’s a peace of cake to build one by yourself. Make a sketch with measurements in 20min then go to Home Depot and tell the guy what size pipes and connectors you need. Make sure it’s sturdy and you’ve saved yourself some money. And even if you don’t have the right connectors or anything you can always go back and swap em for the right ones.
Or maybe look for someone selling a used one. But getting the “Triceptor”…it just cracks me up %-)

so you think Kevin Levrone is a dumbass??
I think it would be a good investment, you will pay alot more for dipping stations elsewhere. Plus it is adjustable. You can do close grip dips for your triceps, and wide grip for the chest.
Just because it has a silly name, doesnt mean it is useless.
It’s practically written on his face. Looks like an ape and probably does roids. He sure needs some dough, dressing up in the Triceptor t-shirt. What a joke, that’s the worst fake tan I’ve ever seen (it looks ugly, when will they finally get it).
It seems very uncomfortable, I don’t know. Maybe you should check out some independant online reviews(obviously not the ones on the very site) to see what people say.
These guys’ replies are hilarious! (in other threads as well) One thing I’d like to add is that PVC would never hold me up without a catastrophic failure. But Kevin Levrone IS a joke. If his pics were used in a pharmaceutical companys’ ad camapign, I’d be a believer!

New York Barbell is a good source for inexpensive equipment.
Triceptor…(eye roll)
Kyubert
You have to admit that guy on the front of that website looks like the missing link.
Of course if he heard me say that he would club me and suck the marrow at out my bones.
Yeah, cause that’s the hidden protein where raptors can’t get to.
Have you guys seen Levrone lately? He must have lost 50-60 lbs! He’s going into movies to be an action star…
Cheers

Ofcourse he is pharmaceutically enhanced. All major pro bodybuilders are. But just because he is a pro, does that make him a dumbass? just because he has a endorsement contract with triceptor, does that make him a chump? Majority of all bodybuilders get fake tans. They all get endorsement contracts. He still had to work very hard to attain his physique. Even when people juice, they still dont attain the physique that pro bodybuilders have.
Now if your saying when people are pharmaceutically enhanced, then they are dumbasses, then look at Dave Tate. Are you calling him dumbass just because he juices?
Dave Tate is a very intelligent guy, that knows alot about training. He worked hard for his performance in powerlifting. Just because he juices does not mean that he did not work very hard to get to where he is at now. Same as Kevin Levrone.

He often loses that amount every year. He is also in a rock band as well. He only juices before a contest. He believes this is better for his body than remaining “on” all year long.

That was my thinking. I was hoping someone might actually have tried one. I have been looking for online reviews and havent found any.
About the only thing I can currently see that might not be good is the diameter of the handles. They might not be large enough for a comfortable grip when your weight is bearing down on them.

I know all that. Can’t you take a joke? The guy looks like a simian retard and makes the advertisement look pathetic. It’s not my fault. He’s probably making good money and living a decent life, so what? Does that somehow prevent him from being stupid and looking like a chimp? Hell no. When Michael Jackson gets into some scandal, I laugh at the moron. When Gerge W doesn’t know the difference between ‘prosecute’ and ‘persecute’ I don’t say “Oh, well, he’s the pres.”, I call him a dumbass. Just because someone’s a public figure or making big money, doesn’t mean they deserve some sort of special respect.
Not to mention that I specificaly said ‘they’ when reffering to the tan, because I meant all pro-bodybuilders.
Careful guys, Kevin could tell something had not gone right with the photo shoot. He’s gonna be looking for revenge.
I made a dip station out of Iron pipes that I purchased from Lowes. It cost 40 dollars.
So far it has held together fairly well…
Just make sure you have enough stabilization in the base.
I have seen a few where the uprights are made from 4x4 posts with holes drilled in them for insertion of iron bars at the parallel. Experiment have fun.
Just try and keep the parallel bars @ 51" of the floor.
Or just buy a dip station from NY Barbell for 138 with free shipping
Good Luck
It’s 99 bucks, no shipping charges, and no sales tax outside of Maryland. If I built this thing, and charged myself hourly labor equaling what I make at work, I’d have a lot more than a $99 into it. (It’s bad enough that no one pays me to work out.) This little sucker is a good deal.
