MAIN QUESTIONS

  1. i am a female, will this effect me differently
  2. i heard it boosts your estrogen levels aswell as testosterone, does this mean i will get a fat ass stomach and thighs??
  3. if it does produce extra estrogen aswell SHOULD i take a estrogen blocker with it??

Unless you have testicles, it will most definitely not have the same effect.

In men, Tribulus increases Leutinizing hormone from the pituitary, which in turn causes the testes to produce more Testosterone.

I’m not positive, but I believe that the majority of the testosterone found in women is due to conversion from estrogen.

Well, let’s assume the Trib will cause a rise in LH for you just like it would a male. LH is responsible for triggering ovulation (although that only occurs when there is an acute spike, not just the small gradual rise you’d get from Trib).

That process includes more production of estradiol and progesterone…so I don’t think it’d be useful for much mass gain for you. I think you’d be better off to lift heavy, eat a lot, and supplement with a good protein powder. Good luck!

thanks for the replies, so if testosterone in women is produced from the conversion of estrogen then i dont need some kind of estrogen blocker??

are there any women out there that have used it and had success with it???

i doubt.

just stick to good food (eggs, beef) and big lifts like the O-lifts and the big three.

those lifts and some good cholesterol will pump your test to good levels.

if your looking for supplements to help add to your training have you tried Se7en? its supposed to be great for women. BCAAs and Carbolin 19 might help to. hope that helps.

Do not take an estrogen blocker. Number 1…there is way too much for you to learn about endocrinology at this point for you to be thinking about messing with your bodies hormones. Number 2…that would have some far reaching effects you probably aren’t thinking of, such as masculinization and interference with normal menstrual cycles.

It’s not doing anything for you. T in women is produced mainly in the ovaries.

Try DHEA.[/quote]

but i heard DHEA has more side effects with skin and stuff??

In the supplement store I work in part time there is one female that comes in and swears by trib products.
She feels that both her work outs and recovery are much improved using that supplement.

Check in the “Muscle Sorority” Forum, I know I’ve read some of the veteran females there talk about using REZ-V which is an anti-estrogen…Jen Heath maybe?? But I don’t remember anyone using a tribulus product. That’d be the best place to ask, though.

Good luck!
